Right in the heart of Downtown Cleveland, Cleveland State University sprawls over 85 acres and includes more than 40 buildings scattered along downtown's busy streets. Wide sidewalks, bike lanes, and mass transit make getting around easy. The Cleveland State Vikings used to be represented by the comic strip character Hagar the Horrible, but he was replaced in 1998. The Vikings participate in NCAA Division I as part of the Horizon League, and the basketball team plays at Wolstein Center. As you look at apartments near CSU, keep in mind that the university sits roughly east of 17th Street and extends to I-90. Chester Avenue and Euclid Avenue run directly through campus, while Superior Avenue is about a block north. If you want to be close to Wolstein Center, look along Carnegie Avenue and Prospect Avenue. If you prefer to be closer to the Cleveland-Marshall School of Law, look near the intersection of Chester Avenue and 18th Street.
