From its beautiful, tree-filled campus, students walk along the Genesee River Trail and enjoy beautiful river views. With a campus that resembles a park, the University of Rochester belies its urban location -- but it is less than two miles south of Downtown Rochester and minutes from Greater Rochester International Airport. This private university isn't just picturesque -- this is one of the top research universities in the nation. One of its most famous schools, the Eastman School of Music, is a prestigious program that is considered among the best music programs in the US. It is highly selective, with less than 12 percent of applicants are accepted.
Rochester is quite walkable, and the Genesee River Trail makes it even easier -- and more scenic. If you want easy access to the trail, look along Mt. Hope Avenue or Wilson Boulevard for your rental near the University of Rochester. South Avenue is a terrific option for those wanting to be close to Lamberton Conservatory and the Sunken Garden. If you'll be frequenting the University of Rochester School of Medicine, look on the south side of the university near Elmwood Avenue or Crittenden Boulevard. Bus stops line many of the streets around the university, providing easy access to the entire Rochester area.
