Established in 2002, California State University Channel Islands is the youngest of 23 campuses in the CSU family. CSU Channel Islands offers an unparalleled student-centered learning experience in over 50 areas of study. Undergraduate and graduate education at CSUCI facilitates learning within and across disciplines through integrative approaches, experiential and service learning, and exposure to multicultural and international perspectives.
The CSUCI campus is somewhat remote, peacefully surrounded by lemon groves and strawberry and raspberry fields. There are a variety of apartments, townhomes, and houses available for rent in Camarillo, Newbury Park, Thousand Oaks, and Oxnard, which are all within close proximity to campus. Convenience to U.S. 101 and the Pacific Coast Highway allow for simple commutes and travels from CSUCI.
Campus is energetic and vibrant, with a broad range of student organizations and recreational opportunities. Pacific Coast beaches, several state parks, and the Santa Monica Mountains are all just a short drive from campus. Santa Barbara and Los Angeles are both about an hour’s drive from campus as well.
