With a student population well over 70,000, attending ASU is like living in a decent-sized city unto itself. The massive campus is basically the center of Tempe, and much of the community is custom-tailored to meet the needs of the student body. Sun Devil football and basketball games are extremely popular, and the rivalry against the University of Arizona is serious business. Intramural sports are also big, with basketball, football, and soccer sometimes seeing as many as 200 teams signed up.
Mill Avenue is without a doubt the most popular off-campus destinations for students, whether you’re looking for a quick lunch between classes, a late-night snack, or the best nightlife in town. Dutch Brothers Coffee is a favorite among students seeking a pick-me-up for study breaks without standing in line at the major chains.
Of course, the year-round sunshine in Arizona can be a mixed blessing, so ASU students are well-versed in the art of the pool party… you can generally find at least one happening every weekend.
