Being on the edge of the city has many benefits that work for my family. Giving us access to a mixture of city and suburban life.

This neighborhood is clean and friendly. It is safe and cooperative for residents. It has access to many local vendors as well as major chains. It has easy access to public transportation. It is easy to access highways. Overall this is a very friendly and picturesque neighborhood.

It's like a suburb in the city! I moved here knowing nobody and was welcomed with open arms! There are great schools and arts!

Coming from L.A I found Mt. Greenwood simply appalling. It is the blueprint of why Chicago has zero diversity and is such a segregated city. Mt Greenwood is a storied area of racism where many municipal workers reside and create an intolerant area that has literally driven People of color out or pretty much harassed them to the point of leaving. After graduating college my wife and I looked to buy a house there as it was close to her job. The realtor told us plain and simple. It's way too racist in that area and the pros don't even out with all the crap you'd have to face. We pressed forward thinking she couldn't be correct but I later found out she was very accurate as the glares we received said two words. NOT WELCOME. How unfortunate it is to have areas like this todays world.
