Located about three miles south of downtown St. Louis and right along the Mississippi River, Marine Villa packs plenty of culture and history into a small area. The neighborhood has brick houses and apartment buildings on almost every corner, and even has some flounder houses, a style of home rarely seen outside of St. Louis. Other historic buildings found within Marine Villa include the Lemp Brewery and the Chatillon-DeMenil Mansion.
