Laveen, a small urban village in Maricopa County, was once a predominantly pastoral community that has now bloomed into a mecca of housing and commercial developments. It’s about eight miles southwest of Phoenix, and is home to great schools within the Laveen Elementary and Phoenix Union High School Districts.
The annual barbecue is a Laveen tradition that pays homage to its rural roots. It began in 1950 and consists of country music, dancing, and a cow milking competition. You’ll love this community because of its scenic view of South Mountain Park, the easy commute to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, as well as nightlife at Lone Butte Casino in Chandler.
As of September 2025, the average apartment rent in Laveen is $1,304 for a studio, $1,588 for one bedroom, $1,928 for two bedrooms, and $2,414 for three bedrooms. Apartment rent in Laveen has increased by 1.9% in the past year.

I have lived here all of my life, from birth to present, and I loved it when it was just a little town surrounded by farmland, and little people. But now as I grow, Laveen grows with me and I am starting to not like the changes. While Laveen does get more exposure, which leads to more shops, it also leads to more people and with small roads and booming population, the traffic gets horrible. There is also a rapid increase in neighborhoods which means waking up to the sounds of construction and the destruction of precious farmland which was what Laveen was known for. There is a lot in store for the future of Laveen, but honestly I don't know how I feel about them, obviously I want Laveen to grow and prosper, but I think it is growing too fast. Roads need to expanded, less homes, more shops and places.

Laveen is a quiet area in AZ. there in a public middle school and high school. There is not loud noises or anything on the news recently about the area. Apartment buildings and homes are being built more around the area. On 51st baseline new fast food places are being built making people or students have a bigger opportunity on getting a job.

Good, spacious, animal friendly, but it needs dog parks, a community park, and bicycles lanes on roads. Also, there are not places to recycle, neither huge containers to trash big items like a sofa (like in Phoenix). Laveen ought to have off-road vehicles regulations and extremely loud music ought to be prohibited including fire-works on and around hollidays.

Super quiet and nice, everybody minds their own business. Only change I'd want to see is just better roads and road safety.
