Nestled along the Arkansas River, Heights is an upscale neighborhood and is known as one of Little Rock’s best neighborhoods to live in. The neighborhood was given its name because many of the homes are located on bluffs, allowing for awesome views of the river. Boasting manicure lawns and tree-lined streets, Heights is known as an upscale community, but there are some affordable and mid-range housing options available as well. Residents in this family-friendly locale enjoy access to great schools and abundant amenities. While living in Heights you won’t have to go beyond the neighborhood to get what you need with a plethora of mom-and-pop shops, high-end boutiques, and eclectic restaurants along Kavanaugh Boulevard and R Street. When locals aren’t shopping or grabbing a meal, you’ll find then spending time outdoors golfing at the Country Club of Little Rock or exploring a waterfront park like Rabsamen or Murray Park. Adding allure, Heights is convenient to the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and Downtown Little Rock, which are both less than 15 minutes away.

My neighborhood in Little Rock is very safe, but Little Rock still has a lot of crime overall. I wish break-ins and robberies were less common.

Although there is not much diversity within the residents, many people visit the local restaurants. Visitors are well received regardless of difference in culture and ethnicity.

As a registered nurse I have a wonderful job as a case manager. However, the wages in Arkansas are pitiful. I earn about $3000.00 a year more now than I did in 1995 - salaries have not kept up with cost of living. Much as I love nursing, I will look elsewhere in the near future - either a different state or use my experience in a different field.
