Historic Guilford is one of Maryland’s most prominent communities. This highly sought-after neighborhood has several roots in Baltimore’s history and is a designated National Register Historic District. Guildford is home to the renowned Sherwood Gardens, a botanical garden founded in 1920 known for its annual showcase of over 80,000 tulips along with beautiful azaleas and cherry trees. Today, Guilford is known for its alluring architectural styles and prime location.
The neighborhood offers a variety of styles for rent, from cozy cottages to jaw-dropping mansions and luxury apartments. By living in Guilford, you’ll be close to some of the biggest attractions and major destinations in Baltimore. The neighborhood borders Loyola University Maryland and Johns-Hopkins University. Walk a few blocks over from the campus and you’ll have access to a slew of locally-owned restaurants, cafes, and bars along 36th Street. The Baltimore Museum of Art, Wyman Park, Maryland Zoo, and Druid Hill Park are all convenient to Guilford as well. And if you need to go to Downtown Baltimore, you’ll only be a 20-minute drive away.

I have lived in Guilford nearly my entire life. It is my home, my parents' home, and my great grandmother's home before that. Guilford has a old-world charm that you simply cannot find anywhere else in the city. Things move slowly here. It has quirks and charm and flaws like any place. I love walking my dogs around the neighborhood on a Saturday night and seeing that nearly all the homes have turned off lights and gone to bed by 10pm :) I make fun of it sometimes for not being as hip as other neighborhoods, but I can't imagine growing up in a more lovely place.

Baltimore in general does not have many big stores in the city; you have to have a car to get to Target, Walmart, and malls. Overall, the area is walkable, has great public transit and I love living, and working in the city.

Me and all my friends in the area have accessibility to jobs in the area, though many people choose to commute to the city for a skewed view of the city as unsafe.
