The Eastside neighbourhood is a relatively safe neighbourhood. Although it lacks resources for young people, the community is close and helps each other. There is room for improvement.

East side is a great community on the east side of Chicago. Great restaurants, small and local shopping, Indiana is next door for cheap gas, much safer than most parts of Chicago, and houses and infrastructure and well taken care of finished off by having calumet beach. Recommend living here. The south shore line or metra electric take you right into downtown and bypassing harder hit areas.lots of jobs

The East Side is my childhood I live and treasure. Many people over the Chicago area don't really know about this area because of how small it is and far out it is from the city. However being a small community has it's many pros because of everyone knowing one another making it a safer place to live. It is predominately a Hispanic community that continues to grow . I love waking up knowing that I have family and friends around me that I have grew up with and continue to do so. East Side is not just an area I have been apart of for eighteen years but a place that has shaped the young independent woman I am turning into. Through this neighborhood I have faced many challenges but have been able to overcome them because of the little things such as my close friends and family who always have my back.

I would love to see less violence, and more resources being provided for young people in order to motivate them to go to college.
