The East De Pere community lies in the outer east section of De Pere, Wisconsin, a city that was discovered during the late 1600s by a French explorer named Pere Claude-Jean Allouez. Allouez founded a mission on the final stretch of rapids on the Fox River, naming the area Rapids De Peres.
