I grew up in Deltona. It's safe, quiet, and you can find what you need there. Its on the way to the coast. Has easy highway access and near the Florida springs as well.

From my experience growing up in Deltona, I think it is a fine place to live. The crime rate isn't high, and I have always felt pretty safe going around town. Most of the town is residential, so there isn't much to do for entertainment besides a few parks, a movie theater, and a roller-skating rink. Fortunately, you don't have to travel very far to find more entertainment options, such as beaches and theme parks.

20 year resident. Not as "far" as it used to be from many things, which is nice. School system is an epic disaster.

The neighborhood I reside in is very safe and we have had no issues in the 4 years we've lived here. The only thing I would change is I wish there were more things to do.
