We bought our house a few months ago. I love that I could afford my home. My neighbors are nice, and I can walk to many businesses/services. We are on the border of Brentwood and feel we get the best of both communities. While Carrick is in need of some revitalization, I can see it happening. The library is new. New businesses are opening, and the Community Council is dedicated to improving our community. For those concerned about safety, I've been walking my dog around 10-10:30pm every night without issue.

Carrick is a cheap location with a lot of convenient places just around the area. But with the higher percentage of crimes in Carrick include drugs and robbery, Carrick has fallen in the past 10 years.

I moved from the city of Las Vegas where the school districts were not up to par. I moved to Carrick where it was not the best school in the city of Pittsburgh by any means, but it's where I grew up and how I have become who I am today. Street smarts are something I have acquired living in the Carrick neighborhood, but having a school available to me and provided with a FREE education is something I am thankful for and I hope to make a difference as a teacher advocate for the Pittsburgh public schools
