It's a great safe place to live however it is incredibly expensive. Would be a great place to raise kids if you can afford it!

I love our neighborhood. It is extremely safe, and it's nice that we have lots of shopping malls with restaurants and food options. Not to mention there are some amazing schools nearby.

As a 17-year-old, growing up in Carmel Valley has been amazing. The area is great and I genuinely feel safe wherever I go, even at night. Everything is extremely accessible. The schools around here are all subpar. I will admit, living here is not easily affordable and around half of the people here are conservative.

Carmel Valley is an upper middle class neighborhood. Given its location in coastal Southern CA, it is expensive. There are many, many great schools in this family-oriented community. Residents are predominantly white or asian.
