Among the first city neighborhoods to obtain the designation of Community Wildlife Habitat Site by the National Wildlife Federation, Brooklyn-Centre is home to the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo as well as numerous parks and green spaces. The presence of Big Creek and Cuyahoga River provide opportunities for all kinds of water-related activities in Brooklyn-Centre.
Pearl Road is the historic commercial center of the neighborhood, with listings on both the National Register and Cleveland Landmarks.
