The historic neighborhood blends the old and new with its small-town charm and modern amenities. The crime is typical of most areas. It is very moderate. It's not as bad as Los Angeles but not as good as Irvine. Gangs are around but not very active. Police are visible, but as in every minority area, they respond slowly.
