Located about four miles southwest of Downtown Riverside, Arlington is one of the city’s oldest neighborhoods. The historic neighborhood blends the old and new with its small-town charm and modern amenities. Arlington is laden with locally owned restaurants, specialty shops, medical facilities, and more. The crime is typical of most areas. It is very moderate. It's not as bad as Los Angeles but not as good as Irvine. Gangs are around but not very active. Police are visible, but as in every minority area, they respond slowly.
