Broadview has been more than an apartment building where I live. The property for the two-bedroom I'm in is big and spacious. In the time I've been there, I've also cultivated a warming relationship with the people at the front desk. Gary and Kayla are always there in the morning to say hello and wish me a good day. Then when I return, Darryl always says, "Welcome Home!", while Danielle asks how am I and how my day went. They are also ever ready to help with any questions and concerns regarding the property itself and issues relating to the building. It really is a home.

I had scheduled a tour of the apartment complex with Eric for Saturday, the 16th of Dec, after exchanging several text messages. Living in NYC, I had planned a special trip just to view the apartment, even arranging to stay at a friend’s place. However, Eric did not show up for the appointment nor replied to my messages. At the leasing office, a staff member informed us that Eric does not work on weekends. Not once did this person apologize for the inconvenience. This experience was enough for me to conclude that what other reviews say is true: bad management. I will not be coming back.

I've lived here for three years and have dealt with roaches, mice, sinks overflowing with sewage water, cheap adhesive coming up on floors, trash chutes overflowing and stinking up entire floors and still can't get maintenance to address anything without submitting two to three tickets for the same issue. I've waited as long as eight months with three tickets submitted to have a large hole in my kitchen wall filled because mice were infesting my apartment through it. Their response was to place a couple mouse traps instead of filling in the hole that I confirmed to be their entry point. If you are researching other buildings in the area I urge you to pursue them instead.

Half of the units in this building do not have working heating & air conditioning. Mine worked the first couple months, but proceeded to break down every other month for two years. I don't know if I can fault maintenance because they were very responsive to requests -- but they have ultimately been unable to fix the issue. Also, Broadview Apartments + Woodcliffe manor clearly only have ~10 maintenance people servicing 300+ units -- they are understaffed. Garbage chutes have not worked for ~3 months. Otherwise, it's a good building. Great common areas, gym, wifi in lounges, etc. If you're lucky enough to get a working unit, congrats. Otherwise, you need to give 60-days notice before your lease ends to move out.

The new management does not care about it’s residents. The only good thing about this apartment is that it’s in a good location. Our water bills have tripled over the past few months because the apartment management were too cheap to cover for a mistake they made and instead of them paying for it, they are making the residents pay for it. Be prepared to also take showers in cold water, sometimes even have no water (one time we had no water for a week and the management’s solution was to come pick up a bottle of water), fire alarms go off at least 2-3 times a week, and face mask requirements are never enforced in public areas. The walls are so thin here, that you can hear everything. Now that the weather is getting warm, little maggots have been crawling out of the bathroom sink as well. Also, if you’re the type of person that gets anything delivered, be prepared to have your packages be “lost”. One time, I received an email directly from the apartment management that my package was delivered, but when I went to go pick it up, they couldn’t find it. They didn’t even apologize but instead tried to blame it on the company I ordered from. They can’t even take responsibility of their mistakes. My advice is to look at the surrounding apartments even if you have to pay a little more; it’ll definitely be worth it.

The management is rude, hostile, and incapable of basic human decency. The building would be up to par if we were living in a post apocalyptic world where dirty rats have taken over. The Broadview, like it’s trash room, is filled with smelly foul people and garbage rooms.

Location-wise the building is good. Also, the apartments are clean and look new. But the management is very poor. They don't turn on the heat in the winter even the temperature is negative. Also, they used to transfer the cost of any maintenance of the building to the resident. I guess it should be their responsibility to maintain the property that's why they are taking the rent.

Does not provide heating in freezing cold weather. Shuts down essential things, like hot water supply, without any prior notice. Front desk has zero knowledge about the amenities. The property manager will not respond to any questions/complains regarding heating, hot-water malfunction. Absolutely incompetent management.

This is not a property I would plan on moving into long-term. The walls are VERY thin, so if you get a loud neighbor, consider enjoying quiet and privacy in your own unit a rarity. You can try to let the front desk or management know, but usually nothing is done about it. Additionally, the closets are small and the kitchen is so small its barely survivable - there is absolutely no counter space! I also had to provide my own microwave, so keep that in mind as well. Also, keep in mind that there may be some necessary water outage for extended periods of time. They try to make sure they let you know if it's just a particular part of the building or certain floors, but it usually ends up impacting more than what they've told you about (as I write, water is out for 8th floor units but was told it would only impact 7th floor and below). Finally, even though they have "24 hour access" to laundry facilities in the basement, often times many of the washer machines do not function well (one time my clothes came out smelling like a skunk had sprayed them) or aren't working at all. Oh yes, and aside from a few staff (i.e., Marcia, April, and Darryl) the managment can be unpleasant to deal with - even downright rude at times. All in all, I would avoid living here if you can help it, but if you have to, the neighborhood at least is very nice.

I’ve lived here for a year in the Woodcliffe apartments and just signed a new lease to move into the main building. Love living here. It’s super spacious, very quiet, maintenance is helpful and quick with service and Marcia in the leasing office is my girl!! Would definitely recommend!

I wanted to write this review by the time I leave this place, but today’s incidence prompted me to write right now! Since the day I applied here, I constantly encountered VERY RUDE, OBNOXIOUS AND IMPOLITE behavior of leasing office and front desk staff! They live in the same building and they are acting like they are owner of the whole place! Today they suddenly shut down water without any warning and when I called, she said maintenance shut it down, instead of an apology that we didn’t send out email, she just rambled some crap! So disappointed that such nice building in a good neighborhood has such horrible, irresponsible employee with bad attitude! This was just a minor example that I just saw, but anybody who lives here has at least dozen awful experiences with the leasing office staff! The owner of this building should reconsider about the people they recruit for their complex or they are going to see financial loss with their employees behavior!

So many issues. No one wants to take two seconds to answer your questions. They shrug and say they don’t know the answer and send you to an email that never replies. The last straw was seeing mice in the apartment. Went apartment searching the next day. ??

We have to live in Broadview Apartment for 2 and half year. Finally, we are going to move out. First of all, we have had several problem with maintenance. They could not fix the AC and they did not replace it with another one. They have refilled the refrigerant every one to two months and never thought to replace it. Finally, we stop using it. We also have had several bad experiences with management. The worse part for this apartment is the management. If you have something from them, good luck! They don't solve the problems, they are creating problems. You should get confirmation email or hand written for everything. Otherwise, you are in trouble. Other staff who work in front desk are mostly good persons. At the end, I don't recommend them. There are several options which are much better then Broadview in the neighborhood.

I lived here for about 5 years and the staff and management were very friendly, understanding, and professional. I would recommend this place to anyone..it is a great place to call home

The new management, KETTLER, sucks! If you have decided to stay here, - be ready to have several hours of having no hot water without even a prior notice, - be ready to experience some weird, impolite, and unprofessional behavior of receptionist at the front desk. - be ready to call them several times, but no one even bothers answering you, let alone sending them an e-mail. - be ready for several lease contract mistakes. - be ready for frequent water-shut-off days. - and several other issues. By the way, if a drain clogged/backed up in your apartment, be ready to solve the issue by yourself, otherwise they may charge you between $386 to $1,513!

They do not accept pets even though they have it listed as a 200lbs weight limit.... Should really update thier ad.

This is reasonably priced apartment for the area. It serves students well and excellent for those studying or working at Johns Hopkins University. It is 10 mins walk to the campus or to the shuttle stop serving the Johns Hopkins Medicine campus downtown. The apartment itself maybe a bit noisy because of the way it is constructed, and you may have to knock on your neighbors door above you if they don't realize it. The neighborhood is nice, quite and very safe and there are couple of nice places to eat. Street parking is a bit of challenge and rarely you find empty spaces. Paid parking is available through the apartment for an extra $125.
