Overall, the experience has been good. The apartment is spacious. However, certain things can be improved, like email communication is poor. In-person, the staff, is helpful. However, I did not receive a reply to email inquiries.

Too many infestations. They send a specialist to get rid of roaches … but they are still there. I’m disappointed and I don’t know what else to do

Good place, amazing heating, but a little pest problem. They also host a series of social events which are pretty good as well! The staff is super friendly!
Its good there are all the necessary things but could get better by having better lifts and dish washer in all the apartment. I have also heard there are roaches in some apartments
I like live there. And I will recommend my friends to choose marylander for the best place to live. I enjoy the serices and study room, which is amazing

Even though some times you see cockroaches in the rooms, it is still a nice place to stay. The staff is conscientious and friendly, and the maintenance staff works hard at their positions. And the environment is very nice with a small park and chairs where I would sit and relax for a while every day.

There is a lot cockroaches and other insects in the room. It's really annoying. However, the safety and environment is pretty cool. They should include all utilities as optional (Tenant will pay). Some new tenant may face struggle about it.

Great. There are elevators, a study room, a social room, a fitness room, a dog park, and so on. When some unexpected situations occur, you can call the apartment to help you deal with them. Besides, I hope the hot water can be used more smoothly.

Good first starter home for a college student. Some issues with the paint job, bathtub faucet leaking after turning it off, and kitchen drain not draining properly. Overall the renovated floors and kitchen look great!

Marylander is a very good apartment for anyone particularly students as it has all the basic amenities and very closer to Homewood campus. It has various grocery stores, bank and restaurants near it.

I like the apartment and I think my unit is really great but I hate that there’s so many bugs. Every time I come back to my unit there’s bugs in the entry way and in the kitchen. I had them exterminate previously but I’m going to have to ask them to do so again.

I have been living here for a year, my experience has been pretty okay, not the best as there are a few issues with the apartment like a lot of pests and shady corridors. Apart from those I enjoyed myself in the play room and had fun.
I am loving the stay. Service and staffs. I love the backyard most. And apartment is located in such place everything is accessible in walking distance. Except the elevator system.

The Marylander Apartments are a well maintained property with apt ammenities that one would need for their day to day life. The staff is very polite and supportive. They keep organizing fun events for the residents, periodically. Best part is its location as it well connects to local bus stops and grocery stores. Strongly reccommended. Small con- centralized heating is too strong and sometimes not needed.

I lived at the Marylander this past year while working nearby in healthcare. The cons: facilities could use some upgrades. There is poor ventilation throughout the building and old trash collection system so the halls ways can often smell of trash or cooking. They will often shut down the water as well (maybe 1-2x per month ) for emergency repairs and can’t always give notice well in advance. The pros: staff are pretty great. Maintenance is responsive and will quickly get to repairs when you put in requests. The staff working in the lobby are kind and responsive, and even put together many events for the residents. I rented a studio and the space was more than adequate, clean and cozy when I arrived. And it is very conveniently located to the stores and restaurants in Charles village, to Union memorial hospital and JH itself.

Water issues, lift or elevator failures have become a permanent fixture. I know the leasing office and the maintenance department are doing as much as they can. However, the leasing company isn’t doing its job. It’s 21st century and we still ride stone-age elevators

Apartment building location, security and activities are fine. But a lot of problem with heating, pest and maintenance. Also price range can be another concern. You will find competitively new apartments in this price range. Overall 3 star.

The staff is really amazing, however the rent prices going up is not so good part of my experience. The service provided is excellent and the common area is good too.

I really enjoy living at the Marylander, the community is beautiful! I love all the green space and the access to different shops are great too. And I feel that the leasing staff and maintenance crew does a great job in making it comfortable and safe for it's residences.

For the most part I do feel safe in the community and the neighborhood. The space im In Is perfect for me. It's very pricey, but at this point in time I don't have a wide variety of choices.. year 5 and I'm ok for now

The Marylander may be an older building, but the dedication of its staff and manager shines through in their efforts to ensure tenants have exceptional experiences. I deeply value their swift responses whenever any issues arise; for instance, maintenance recently installed a stunning new sink for my apartment. In addition, the manager prioritizes a pest-free environment by enlisting professionals to eradicate any bugs. Further, they host events for holidays and even just for the sake of community bonding. From to-go breakfasts to pizza nights, and even Christmas wreath decorating, they consistently foster a sense of belonging among all residents. Having dealt with landlords from Wisconsin to Pennsylvania, the Marylander stands out as the best by far.

Well priced but the building is definitely starting to show its age. I have had problems with roaches. Maintenance is usually quick in other circumstances

Staff is very professional. They always call back and try to work to make sure residents are happy. This is a very big building and sometimes it's a challenge to get the elevators.

I love the staff of the apartment. They are always lovely and helpful. I love the maintenance of the apartment. However, there is always a trash smell in the hallways. They don't clean the hallways and they are always dirty!

While the staff are friendly and maintenance helpful, it feels like they offer band-aid solutions to pervasive issues this apartment has like an ongoing pest problem, extremely hot temperatures and poor infrastructure (I had a leak the first day of my semester). I feel like my physical and mental health have been worse off since moving here. Additionally, the staff offered to move me to another unit and then have not been very communicative during follow-up (I have been waiting for a response to an email for a week). Overall the only perk to living here was the cheap rent but the amount I pay in AC for the heat and to eat out because my kitchen feels unusable due to pests pretty much neutralizes that perk. The location is nice but there are many other housing options in the area. I truly believe if the building cannot begin to consider more substantive solutions to their issues (a full renovation, not optional renovated units that students pay for) this building should be demolished.
