Positioned about eighty miles northwest of Washington, D.C., Martinsburg is the largest city in West Virginia’s eastern Panhandle region. Historically a railroad town, the local economy has diversified considerably in recent years but transportation is still a major industry in the area.
The Downtown district along Queen Street is packed with beautifully preserved buildings housing an array of locally-owned cafes, specialty shops, galleries, and other storefront businesses in a charming walkable layout. Larger shopping centers on the north side of town and along Interstate 81 round out the extensive retail options with everything from big-box stores to the local multiplex movie theater.
Living in Martinsburg puts you just minutes away from nearby nature preserves like Sleepy Creek and Cacapon State Park to the west, as well as the history-rich Harper’s Ferry community to the east.

Property Ratings at Linden at Martinsburg
Maintenance and Staff are great, but its been nothing but spiders, ear wigs, flies, and now gnats + non stop bad odors. Spent ~2 months of non stop earwigs all over my windows and constantly finding them in vents, crawling on my walls/floors. Now its almost 2 months straight of non stop gnats and flies. Literally just had a gnat fly onto MY DINNER and ruin it 10 minutes before posting this. My windows are sprayed, closed, have traps inside and outside, etc - its still just non stop gnats and flies. Especially when I turn the AC on the apartment gets flooded with a dozen of them. Its multiple times a day, almost every hour I have to deal with one flying in my face, disrupting my meals and/or work. Behind my Bedroom and Dining Room windows they have 3 AC units, 2 pipes shooting out of 2nd/2rd floor walls that just drip water all day. The AC units are sometimes gushing out water. Between the two of them I have a small swamp right outside my window.
I give my apt 5 stars..i love living here..i am a veteran and finding a peaceful, well maintained, affordable apt can be hard..my development is called Pheasant Run Apts and Townhomes..the rent is reasonable, close to schools..the manager is pleasant and always avail..if there is a maintenance issue, the guys answer promptly and are very couteous..the grounds are well kept. Plenty of doggie areas (Pets welcomed). The neighbors are quiet yet friendly..i feel safe and secure, inspite of living on the ground floor. Ive lived here for 2 yrs and am happy that i moved here..its a great place to call home...
