Borrowing its name from the shopping plaza it surrounds, the Patterson Place neighborhood extends south along I-40 from Durham-Chapel Hill Boulevard. Heavily wooded with plenty of open green space, this neighborhood feels somewhat rural -- but it is only about eight miles southwest of Downtown Durham and roughly three miles northeast of Downtown Chapel Hill. Residents can commute from Patterson Place easily to Research Triangle Park, less than 15 minutes away.
The Patterson Place shopping plaza provides everything residents need, from groceries at Kroger to shoes at DSW to pet supplies at PetSmart. Durham-Chapel Hill Boulevard is lined with shops and restaurants, and the popular Southpoint Mall is a few minutes south, providing a wide selection of stores, restaurants, and a movie theater.

Kelby Farms is an absolutely beautiful place to live. Amazing amenities, super helpful staff, and even more helpful maintenance staff. Absolutely love the Kelby Farms Team. Lived here for a year and they have been immensely helpful, especially the maintenance team. We have called on Ray and Noah to fix a great number of things, very minor things as the apartment complex is still relatively new. They come in usually within 24 hrs, always prepared on how to fix the issue, and they fix it quickly and efficiently. Very grateful to have them around and make living at Kelby much easier and comfortable.

I love the apartments and amenities that comes with it. I did approach some difficulties when moving into my apartment. Leasing agents did not know that I was supposed to move in on my move in day. Also, I did not receive any welcome letters or documentation of prorated rent and information about certain hookups with apartment such as internet. There was also a problem with connecting my internet connection with my apartment complex because of previous tenants. I was highly concerned about the mold left inside of washer machine and was told that it wasn’t a big deal.

overall good, I had only one problem, otherwise, everything was perfect . Moving is always stressful, so one day before moving, I came to the leasing center and requested to verify my file before getting key. They told me everything is OK . However, the morning when I arrived to get the key, the employee told me first I shoyuld pay the balance for 11 days . I did not have my laptop and moving company was waiting for me. It was very difficult for me to enter my bank account into the portal to pay the balance. My portal was showing zero dollars. I checked it several times before moving. The moving company charged me extra hours . leasing employee told me on her side there was a balance, however, on my side was showing zero. Basically , when you send and calculate a bill to a customer, I should know which amount I should pay. I paid the calculated amount via my cellphone and received confirmation. However, after a few days later , we received an email that you did not receive our rent and we were charged extra for NSF and a late fee because they said we entered the wrong bank information via my cellphone. When in the portal my balance was zero, I thought that I would pay my total rent at the beginning of the month. Unfortunately, the manager and other employees told me that my bank charged me for NSF and asked me to talk to my bank. My bank for security changed my debit card and said there was no transaction on my account. This incorrect information also cost me my time. However, overall we are satisfied with the community and employees.

All approved applicants receive a customized Welcome Letter at time of being approved, which outlines the items due at move-in and includes the payment amount that is due before keys can be issued. Our records indicate that this was sent and the information accurately displayed the balance you were ask to pay at move-in. Unfortunately, returned payments are something outside of control of the office. We are glad to hear that otherwise you are enjoying your apartment and all that our community has to offer. Great place to live. I moved here from NJ and I made the best decision in renting here at Kelby Farms. So many community building events with multiple opportunities to meet your neighbors. There is a true sense of community and the staff are courteous and very responsive to any concerns.

Great apartment to call home. Being a single woman safety was a big priority and I wanted a community that value that as well. The location is top notch. Only a few minutes away from major stores, but far away enough I do not have to worry about traffic to much. Amenities and apartment style are unmatched. The staff have been great as well, their hospitality is unheard of. I appreciate them helping me along as I moved and even check in to see how I was doing. Moving to Kelby Farms was a decision i made with no regrets!
