Hinesville is a small city in southeastern Georgia, about 45 minutes away from Savannah. The city sits adjacent to the massive Fort Stewart, home of the Army’s legendary 3rd Infantry Division. Being next door to the base, Hinesville has a huge military presence, and many rental houses and apartments cater to armed service members seeking off-base living arrangements.
Hinesville has a diverse variety of dining options not commonly found in cities its size, including traditional German, Jamaican, and Korean. For those seeking a change of pace on the weekends, Savannah is close enough to serve as a reasonable day trip destination and numerous nearby beaches are perfect for an easy weekend getaway.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Independence Place
Staff is always so kind everytime I visit the office.
Revolving door of new employees keeps you in the dark about your paperwork. They moved my desired move-in date back a whole week even tho I'm already in town with my stuff. And the reason it got kicked back a week is because the only assistant they keep on staff decided to quit, and I don't blame her. Communication is nonexistent. I had to initiate contact with them the entire application process and even after I got approved they still don't tell you anything about when you can expect to move in. Inconsistent, unreliable, and if you don't read your contract before you sign they'll keep your deposit. DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE OR ANYONE UNDER FILLMORE PROPERTY GROUP
Melissa, and her team are very responsive to the needs of the residents. The complex — boasting of beautiful scenery — is very clean both on the inside and outside, and price-wise, it’s very reasonable with less than 5 minutes drive to Ft. Stewart.
Property Manager at Independence Place, Responded To This Review
Thank you! We appreciate your kind words and thoughtfulness! We are always here for our residents and are very grateful to have you be a part of our community.
They will charge you for unreasonable things, they didnt return my deposit within the 30 days of move out, and when i called them, it went from them oweing me money, then the next call they owed me less, and then finally when I called 2 months later since I hadnt gotten the money, suddenly I owed them money. This is such a terrible place to live, and this management company is one of the worst I've worked with.
The staff never answer the phone and never return your call. I've been dealing with the same issue for two months, an issue which was caused by a staff member! I've spoken with them multiple times, each time they said they'd resolve the issue but nothing has been done. The manager has offered no help whatsoever.
These people are trash they don’t answer their phones and when things go left it’s always the tenants fault only reason this place don’t get 1 star is because it is pretty on the outside but the inside of the apt needs work they have mold in window seal, walls are thin and sink leaks even after being fixed.
The office staff changes constantly and no one is ever on the same page. The property is dirty, there is dog poop everywhere, the doggie park is just a fenced in area, and the rent you're paying does not compare to what you can get at other locations.

WE'RE UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT! Come see how much we've improved! We've got big renovation plans!
The office staff at Independence Place is very responsive to the tenant’s concerns. Whenever I call in I can count on the staff to get back to be within 24-48 hours, and most times come to a solution in that same time frame. Christina I. is definitely a company asset. T. Bookman
Independence place apartment is 5min away from the military base. These apartments complex have various of amenities for kids. A pet friendly park. The staff is friendly and keep you informed about the changes and new events in our neighborhood.
Poor management staff. Very forgetful on sending out rent reminders or 60 day lease renewals, be they never forget to slam you with fees. $200 short term contract. The website says high speed internet access but it's a lie. You have access to high speed internet access. With untilites not included, it a extra $400 to an already inflated price. You pay a whole lot for very little. Would actually live anywhere else.
Been living at IP for the better part of a year now, and it has become obvious that the management does not respect the clients. I do not recommend. Maintenance requests are forgotten, management refuses to call residents if they have an issue, and it does not live up to its title of "drug free campus.", receiving packages is always a hassle, and constantly changing property owners has bred a toxic management team.
This place feeds off of military by overcharging for a less than mediocre place to live. When my family moved in, the apartment was filthy. The whole place overall is trashy. The breeze ways are always trashed, the dumpster is almost always overflowing, and the pool gets shut down by the health department. Staff is less than professional, and the maintenance "team" takes forever to respond to work orders. By far the worst rental experience that I have ever had.
These apartments have some of the best staff members
I love this facility!! I would absolutely recommend this apartment complex to others!
