The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Hilltop in the Highlands
This apartment complex is directly across the street from Renton Technical College. In terms of location, it's got easy access to metro bus stops, grocery stores, restaurants, and a variety of other shops. It is very easy to hop on a bus and get to the Renton Transit Center. The maintenance crew is amazing. They will always do their very best to help you and often go above and beyond their expected quality and quantity of work. There are landscapers that come once a week to keep things tidy, though they are often here for much longer than they need to be. The grounds overall are very clean and most people help to keep it that way. It is pet friendly and there is a dog run right next to the trash/recycles. Most of the people are very friendly, but occasionally you will find some tenants that don't always respect how they are impacting others. The biggest downside to this apartment complex is that the management is no longer on site. They are located at another apartment complex owned by the same company a few blocks away. They are not good about calling back when you leave messages and often never reply. The manager is also terrible about discretion and anonymity, so if you ever do have a complaint about another tenant, be forewarned that often your name and/or apartment number will be given to that person. The manager swears up and down that he never gives out names or apartment locations, but he has done the same thing with us when we had an issue with the lady downstairs. I rate it a 3/5 because the management is less than stellar.
My wife and I have been living here for over 8 years now. They allow pets of all sizes (minus some breeds) so if you want to have a furry companion this is a good place to look. It's easy to get to everything and the maintenance staff is top notch! They will go above and beyond for you in any way they can. Unfortunately the actual managers of the complex are off site, at a different bigger complex, so they don't really care about this one any more. You are lucky if they call or email you back, ever. Most of the time I have to threaten to come down to the office itself to insure I get a response at all. They are very corporate now and don't worry about anything except for getting the rent paid. If you have a complaint or worry, don't expect it to get resolved ever. And if it does they most likely will go short of actually fixing the issue but will just try to placate you. They allow people with domestic violence issues to stay here, and those with unregistered weaponry. They won't stand up to any tenant in any meaningful way. The way they handle problems is the same way a high schooler breaks up with someone, they just annoy slightly enough until they leave on their own, instead of actually being proactive. The apartments are decent and the grounds are good, but just know you'll be paying more than this place is worth if you don't have pets.
