The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Hickory Ridge Apartments
I have lived in Hickory Ridge since starting graduate school here in Ames. Through all of the changes that have occurred in my time of being there, I've always been treated well and have enjoyed living here. The neighbors have all been nice, management has been good to work with, and the maintenance guys are always quick to jump on any issues that you report. I also love the portal that they use to pay rent and report maintenance requests. All-in-all it's been a great experience living here and would recommend! (Plus it's close to ISU and Hyvee which is a major bonus!)
The new manager Britney is great! Always helpful! They have done a lot of updates the last few years. New parking lots, landscaping, siding, windows and doors, etc. Great place to live!
The management here has been extremely helpful. The management has demonstrated excellent communication for its residents. The apartments are cozy, modern, and generally quiet. There is no covered parking. The location is exceptionally convenient, the stairwells are always kept clean. The maintenance is helpful and punctual, they really care. The apartments are warm and I love the large windows! The complex is also right next to a bus stop, very convenient for students to commute to the University, which is also nearby. Overall, wonderful place to live.
