Located roughly eight miles southwest of Downtown Mobile, Spring Valley is framed by Government Boulevard to the north, I-65 to the west, and I-70 to the south. The Dog River bisects the neighborhood, which is home to the Heron Lakes Country Club. Hank Aaron Stadium, which hosts minor-league baseball games and features a museum dedicated to hometown hero Hank Aaron, is on the west side of the neighborhood, across I-65.
Government Boulevard contains a variety of shops, restaurants, and businesses, including the popular Rice Asian Grill & Sushi Bar, located in the Skyland Shopping Center. Stores along the boulevard include Open Doors Thrift Store and Old Time Pottery. Take the boulevard east across the Dog River to shop at Dick's Sporting Goods, Costco, Hobby Lobby, Best Buy, and Regal Cinemas. Take I-65 north about three miles to shop at Springdale Mall or Bel Air Mall.
