The apartment exceeded my expectations upon move-in in and I am so happy to live in a place that is clean and safe with great amenities. Going to Duke, this is a great place to live. Right on the bus line, as well as within walking distance to campus. A lot of friendly dogs live here, which is nice. Apartments are well-maintained. Only improvements are with noisy neighbors and better communication from the office staff.

The management and everyone at the leasing office (shout out to Brian and Kehinde) are always quick and super helpful with any issues like maintenance or pest control. The amenities are great and the leasing office is a comfortable and fun communal space. The events hosted there are super fun too!

The apartment itself is great, the maintenance team solve all issues, we have nice amenities. But they rarely refill the dog poop bag stations, the corridors are not always clean (sometimes you see the same dead bugs in the same spots for weeks), deliveries are not always done right (I just never order food and groceries to save myself the trouble) and fellow residents don't really comply to the trash rules, which compromises the cleanliness and hygiene overall.

Great starter apartment in Durham. Close to campus, and a great pool. Communication from the office could be better, and there is not really a community here. Many folks who live here also do not know how to take out their garbage.

very nice apartment complex! they serve breakfasts on week days and coffee/tea all the time!! The community is gated and full of services like gym, pool , barbeque area and etc. I live with a roommate and we love our 2 bedroom apartment.

I've been living here for a two weeks, and I couldn't be happier with my choice.T he management team is outstanding. They're always responsive, friendly, and willing to help with any concerns. Maintenance requests are addressed promptly. The amenities and the breakfast here are what truly set this place apart. The only minor issue I’ve experienced is occasionally not receiving the access code for the package room when I get a delivery. It doesn’t happen often, and the management team is always quick to help resolve it. Other than that, I have no complaints!

Such a comfortable place to live. Spacious apartments, trash service, breakfast on weekdays. Luxuries of a high end hotel but the comfort of home. Love that I (and my neighbors) feel safe walking around the complex at any time of night. That's priceless.

Building is very nice, its close to campus and offers good amenities. Move in process was a bit complicated, not everything is communicated clearly. Staff are usually accessible, but not always. Kitchen is very nice, as our bedrooms, and bathrooms, although everything was a bit dirty moving in.

Safe place to live and new management is doing a great job. Close to Duke and grocery store, and a perk is being on the Duke bus route. Close to main roads to get nearly everywhere.

Everything is amazing, except the maintenance team! They response time is very long, and also some issues are never addresses. For example, my room dont have light bulbs and light (at all-complete darkness!) and they said I should buy some myself because they no longer provide lighting! :|

I love living here. Apartments are good. I love clubhouse area. Pool is nice. Gym is good. Peaceful place. Overall recommended. Gym can have more machines like lat pulldown and for back exercises.

We appreciate the desire for furnished options, and we’re always looking for ways to enhance our residents' living experience. This is something we plan to look into. Unfortunately, rent changes are calculated by our market and comps. At times they rise and at times they fall. The building is somewhat old, but I have no basic complaints about other things. I am especially pleased with the free breakfast and coffee.

I love the amenities at The Heights. The pool, grills, and gym are great. The Heights recently revamped their package room, and it is much more effective. I feel safe living here.

We've been here for five years now and we love it. We have had trouble with breaking into cars but that apparently has been going on in the area in general. There is a security company car that drives around the complex sometimes at night. You need a fob to access buildings, which increases safety.

I've lived at the Heights for 1.5 years. Overall, has been a pleasant living experience, but there are definitely issues with maintenance and packages. Maintenance has been pretty slow to respond to some requests and management doesn't seem to understand its own policy regarding reimbursement for maintenance. They're in the process of fixing the package delivery system, but there's no set process for when delivery can get into the package room, or when they can get into the building to deliver directly to the apartment.

Currently, we are relocating the package center to the front room at the leasing office. Renovations for this task should be complete by mid to end of March. Floors appear to be rather thin, and communication from the office is not the best. Safe neighborhood and nice amenities. Great for Duke students.

Overall it is a good place to live, but for a "luxury" apartment, they overlook many issues. If you are looking at a first floor apartment, just be warned that the AC unit tends to be a bit noisier. And if you have neighbors above you, the floors are very thin and you can hear them walking, closing doors, etc. The build quality of the walls and floor is probably cheap. During my time here, I had to submit a lot of maintenance requests. They are responsive and quick, but they aren't the most thorough at fixing things and sometimes leave things dirty (I've found pieces of drywall, bits of screws and things left around my bathroom counter and kitchen after they visit). When I first moved in, I could tell the floor was still dirty. I was told it was move in ready, but I vacuumed the carpet and it resulted in a FULL can of dirt! Other things like gunk coming out of my faucet, bedroom and closet doors not closing, leaking kitchen faucet, leaking bathroom faucet, windows jammed/not opening easily, hair clogged in sink and tub when I first moved in (not my hair). For the price you would expect more attention to detail and not having to "catch" these mistakes. The location is good - walking distance from school and the shuttle stops in front. Pool is kept clean, gym facilities are good, clubhouse is a great place to host parties or study sessions. Free printing. Free coffee and tea. Trash gets removed on schedule. There were problems previously, but they changed to a new company Trash Fairies and they have been consistent. Package room is definitely chaotic. Many people, my friends included, have had packages stolen. They are planning to install a new package room within this year, but not sure if it will be a locker system. They caught footage of other residents stealing packages. The area feels safe like 99% of the time. I don't really walk around just because the street side is not that pleasant (I only walk to school in daytime). But I don't feel unsafe. However, there was a series of car break-ins here and at Belmont recently which I learned by word of mouth. Don't leave anything in your car because the parking lot is accessible via the sidewalk and we don't have security, just a gate that requires a remote to open. Personally, I was worried about safety before moving here as a female, but I have not had any issues. The buildings are secure since you need a key fob to go inside.

Very nice experience living in Heights! Cozy clubhouse, good swimming pools! Very near the Duke West Campus, commutable by Duke shuttle service.
