Do not recommend

I lived there for five years. In the beginning everything was great, however, when management changed entire community went downhill. Grounds were not kept , it could take days for maintenance to address an issue ( however, I saw them on smoke breaks multiple times throughout the day), constant noise complaints etc. After I moved out management tried to charge me for pre-existing damages ( I have proof that those damages were there when I moved in), also tried to charge me for new carpet, however, I have pictures of condition of my apartment ( including carpet )when I moved out and there were no issues with carpet whatsoever. Even if there would be an issue after 5+ years carpet would have to be changed anyways per normal wear and tear. They tried to report me to collections for unpaid rent, however , rent WAS paid and I have proof that checks were cashed out. They never provided any proof of whatever damages they claim - no pictures , no receipts - nothing . I never took advantage of eviction moratorium, always paid rent on time. It is unfortunate that Hawthorn at the Meadows chose this way to conclude business but what else do you except from lowe class management? I do not recommend this place

Don’t bother

This is the worst place to rent. They have mold issues, strong urine odor in the bathrooms from the urine stained wood under the linoleum. There are very loud neighbors that are disrespectful and rude. The walls and floors are very thin. There is dog waste on the lawns. The office will do nothing about the noise.There is a very high turnover rate for a reason. There are many extra charges every month, added onto your rent. It’s one of those places that the staff seem helpful and nice until you move in and find out that it’s not what you expected. Parking was a huge issue, sometimes had to park very far away from my apartment because the lots are full by 8pm.

Do NOT Recommend

Since the management has changed the quality of service has declined. The office staff is not friendly esp if you tell them there is something wrong. Parking sucks!!!!!! Most times I can not even park in front of my building because there are other vehicles that are there with no permit sticker. Office staff should be ashamed of themselves the way they talk to their residents lately. I would never recommend a Hawthorne property to anyone especially this one!!!!!! Save yourselves the money it is not worth it living here.

Units are great, staff is below par. Since change of management mid-2018 quality of service has declined. Staff makes up accusations without proof and is chummy with certain residents. Move out fees are ridiculous, charged 80 to re mount small shelf and blind in bedroom. Would not reccomend!

Hawthorne at Meadows

This place is so quiet, you can actually hear the birds chirping! The office staff is helpful and friendly. My apartment was clean and well maintained. I had a short term lease there and never had a problem. They change the AC filters monthly, keep the complex clean, and seem to stay on top of the lawn maintenance. You need to visit these apartments if you want to live somewhere nice. There's a car wash, playground, fitness center, nice pool, free Starbucks coffee (fresh ground) and even a place to wash your pet! Also, its very close to 66 and I40 for easy commute. I had to give this place 5 stars because I couldn't think of anything that I didn't like about it. Well, there's one thing, I travel with my job and my next assignment does not have a Hawthorne in the area :(

Hawthorne at the Meadows apartment review

I have lived here about a month and loving it! The apartment is very spacious and has up dated appliances. My favorite is the Garden Tub in the bathroom. The apartment also has a huge porch with trees for a great view and privacy. Matience is very quick when something needs fixed and the staff is very friendly. I also love the social events held by the apartment. I will be attending a pet adoption there this Friday!
