We had a fun time at the pool party on July 12. The staff did an amazing job at planning and executing everything from the DJ, food, drinks and decor! They worked very hard to make sure ever had fun. Great social! The staff clearly cares about the residents in this community. Lisa is great manager.
Hawthorne has been the best apartment around. It’s in a really good location, close to everything I need, and the experience living here alone has been better than anywhere I’ve lived before. Matt and Adam are always happy to help, and they take any maintenance issues seriously and make sure things are addressed promptly. The amenities are great, and they have regular resident events. If you are new to the area or looking to find a solid place to live with friendly neighbors and a great community, this is the place.

Hawthorne price wise is one of the cheaper complexes to live in although a little out dated. The staff overall is okay at face value. They smile when you come in the clubhouse, but it’s very hard to get someone to answer the phone often times, so you have to go up there to get any assistance. Overall, I feel that the staff and management need improvements such as taking care of the pest issues and ensuring that maintenance is fulfilling orders correctly. They should definitely be more concerned about having the entry gate fixed for their residence safety than nit picking if a resident has a certain color/style of curtain or lights on their patios. Ensuring that amenities that we pay for and having our trash picked up consistently is 100x more important than the “aesthetics of the community.”

My roommate and I were scheduled to move in Monday at 4pm. They called us at 11am that day to reschedule our move-in to Friday, saying the apartment needed to be repainted and the carpet needed to be ripped up. We had to reschedule our U-Haul rentals, workdays, living arrangements, etc. Then, when we arrived Friday 10 mins before the office closed, they told us they would not stay open an extra 10 mins to allow us to get a cashier's check. We were coming from work and ran into traffic rushing to get there on their schedule and they could not even stay open a few mins past close time, though we accommodated them pushing our move-in date 5 DAYS. Horrible customer service. Now we have to find a hotel for the night and somewhere to park the trucks. Looking for a new apartment.

When my neighbor assaulted me they told me to buy pepper spray. When my kitchen sink broke and flooded my kitchen they took weeks to fix it. Now they're threatening to tow my car because they didn't give enough notification for me to move it. I travel for work and they know this. I'm in California but they want me to move today and now they plan to tow it and charge me. This place is atrocious and I intend to break the lease and move out as soon as I can. Would not recommend

This is the oldest complex of the Hawthorne franchise. The age of these apartments begin to show rarely quickly after you move in! Peeling floors, pest problem , water seeping through ceilings and wall. Mold issue, Possum issue .Every apartment needs to be renovated asap. I lived there 4 years don't make the same mistake as me.
So during peak summer, there is a tremendous amount cockroaches living in the area. Im not a insect specialist but it doesn't seem to be your typical Palmetto bug but multiple different roach species and I hate walking at night because they are everywhere. The apartment is kept very clean but I have had to remove roaches from inside on several occasions. I was told there would be no carpet since I will be on first floor. First day we move in they tell us sorry you have carpet and nothing else is available. The lobby closed down due to construction which interrupted package deliveries. We still had to pay the monthly fee and no refunds were given even though we were not able to use the required LUXOR package system. The "gates" are almost always broken but this isn't directly their fault as many guests seem to run into them. The benefits of this place? It's fairly quiet and plenty of parking spaces. The staff, while not all that accommodating and available (sometimes the lobby is just locked during normal hours) have been nice. The pool is open late into the year and the grills are nice to use on occasion (if they are working).
I love living at this community. I moved here a few months ago after living at numerous other apartment complexes and have been blown away by the customer service of the staff. Although the maintenance team is busy, they are always quick to respond and take care of any issues that I have. The property is older, but the management company really takes care of the landscaping and the renovations of the inside are awesome. The girls at the front office are so friendly and always put on great events at the clubhouse. I would recommend this place to anyone!

The apartments are supposed to be “luxury” but they feel far from it once you move in. Whoever painted prior to us moving in did a horrible job (paint everywhere: floor, counters, light switches) and used terrible paint (it wipes off with a wet wash cloth). The apartments are a bit outdated inside compared to other communities nearby. Maintenance staff is great and responsive. The office staff however are not. I have been waiting for a response from them for months. The dog park is constantly dirty/smelly, the gates are always broken (leaving this “gated” community non gated). Really disappointed in what appeared to be a luxury community.

This place has it all, wonderful location, great floorplans, good pricing for the area. We moved here earlier this year and are proud to call this place our home. Great office staff, wonderful maintenance that are super friendly and helpful. I wish I could give 6 stars!

Only giving one star because I have to in order to leave a review. I’ve lived here for years, and each year gets worse and worse. We’ve had 3 different property managers in the past few months! And don’t get me started about the new leading consultant. She’s a real gem! Don’t let the high ceilings and crown molding fool you. I wish I could tag photos to share with anyone who is interested in this place. I can’t wait to move! I’ve finally had enough.

I have lived here for some time now and I have encountered so many bugs, mostly cockroaches in my apartment. I have notified the front office and they did nothing to solve this issue for me. They did not seem to care at all that we had a bug issue. I have also encountered so many rude staff in the front office. They never answer the phone or even call you back when you leave a message. I do not recommend anyone to live here!! The rent is not worth it.

This place is a dump. The management staff is beyond the point of unprofessional, there are bugs all over the place, mold all over, the ceiling almost fell down because maintenance refused to fix it. Also, don’t even bother asking maintenance to do anything they give you an attitude.

This is the by far the best place to live in Greenville. Close to downtown, the mall, the shops and not far away from the interstate. I have been here for a month and the staff is friendly and goes the extra mile to make sure that your move in is smooth, and that you have a good living experience. From the moment I drove through the Gated Property of The Carlyle Apartment Homes, I felt a sense of comfort, peace and joy! I knew my search to find the perfect place to live had ended. I parked my car in a spot designated for "Future Tenant" and as I walked up to the entrance and saw the beautiful crystal chandelier, my heart skipped a beat. The architecture and grounds were exactly what impressed me. The staff was attentive and gave me a wonderful tour while pointing out the amenities. The breathtakingly beautiful pool with the gorgeous hanging baskets and potted plants, the 24 hour Workout Room, and the computer office area where residents can research travel, print boarding passes and make copies at their convenience. The apartments are perfect and I could picture myself living very comfortably with my little Chihuahua. I am thrilled to have found The Carlyle. Who knows with the future will bring, but I have lived at The Carlyle for over 2 years and I feel like I am living at a luxury Resort. There is no end to the shopping areas, restaurants and parks. Downtown Greenville is a short 10 minute drive where I can experience an abundance of Culture and recreation all year around. Everything is so convenient and an easy drive to the Greenville/Spartanburg Airport or the AmTrac Train Station! I know that I found the perfect place for me to live and feel safe. The comfort, peace and joy are priceless!
I love the Carlyle apartment complex, we are in a very good area here at this apartment, we are close to everything that we need, we have 3 kids and everything we need for them is very close, apartments.com helped me find our apartment home and I am glad I used this website to find our apartment.
I lived at the Carlyle for 3 years and loved it!! The community is so clean and beautiful, and the security of the gate is comforting. The management is very kind and helpful. I am considering living there again while I am having a house built.
The management associates on premises were very accomodating, responsive and demonstrated a genuine interest in making sure my expereince with their facility was of the highest quality. They conducted themselves more like the staff at a high end resort than like the staff at an apartment complex. For example, one of their Saturday community brunch socials was catered by the best (and among the most expensive) caterers in town.
My wife and I have lived at The Carlyle for seven and one half years. We moved in for six months and found it just too hard to move away. As it goes, you would be hard pressed to find a better place to live! Location is killer, the architecture is first class, maintenance service is a "10" and it is the safest/securest place you will find in this area.
I have lived her for 4 years and have been very pleased. Fashionably upscale at a reasonable price. Staff has been extremely helpful and any problems have been addressed immediately. Location is excellent. Located close to shopping mall, great restaurants, and about 5 minutes from the interstate making it very easy to get to work or downtown.
