The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Hawthorne Apartments
Been here over 2 years. I agree with the previous comment. Since the management changed, the place has been less than desirable. It's generally still nice due to its overall wonderful location and surroundings, but the current manager does not respond to inquiries nor reports of other violations on the property in a timely manner - sometimes without a response at all. The outdoor furniture is not as nicely kept in the common area, along with the cleanliness of the pool or sauna. I hate to give a bad review because I've enjoyed living here under the previous manager.
The management changed about six months ago, and it has not been as nice as it was before. When we call with problems, we do not get responses for days even when the issues are urgent. I unfortunately cannot recommend this complex to anyone considering moving in now, because I think the conditions of the apartments are only going to deteriorate.
I lived here for 5 years. Randy is really great. It's a quiet, pretty complex with lots of parking.
The best feature of this apartment is its location - it is a short 5 minute walk to downtown Palo Alto and at most a 10 minute walk to Caltrain. Stanford mall is just a bit further with a 15 minute walk. The area is also bike friendly. Each apartment comes with 1 parking space in the garage - 2 if you request and there is enough room. There is a pool with lounge chairs and a communal laundry room which is relatively well-maintained. The neighborhood is nice and I feel safe walking at night. There is also a nearby park for those who have children. One thing I want to point out is that the apartment has a dishwasher - this is a nice touch for me given the other apartments I lived at did not have one.
