Ask Nashville natives which is the trendiest of Nashville's trendy neighborhoods and they'll tell you -- it's the Gulch. The Gulch has it all -- an urban, walkable neighborhood filled with the hottest restaurants, shops, and entertainment venues around. But unlike other "it" neighborhoods, the Gulch adds a little something extra: it is the only LEED-certified green neighborhood in the South.
The Gulch is a historic district with an industrial background, so you'll find plenty of lofts in historic warehouses. You'll also find sleek, glass-encased high-rise apartment buildings in the Gulch. Home to jazz clubs, breweries, restaurants owned by celebrity chefs, and legendary bluegrass club Station Inn, the Gulch is Nashville's hottest destination.
The Gulch is cradled by I-40 and I-65 in south Nashville. It is separated from the Nashville Music City Center by 8th Avenue, and Vanderbilt University is about a mile from the Gulch, making the neighborhood very popular with students.

For the price you pay you will have the luxury of having many inconveniences happen without notice. WiFi important for you? Be ready for surprise outages. Maybe security? Be sure to have a low renters insurance deductible to make it worth it. Be sure to also check out all the floors, living in the residence floors (15) Will make you feel like you are walking through some projects with the quality of paint falling off the wall.

I moved into the Harlowe Apartments in May, initially drawn by its fantastic external appearance, excellent location, and the range of amenities advertised. Unfortunately, my experience has been somewhat marred by a series of maintenance and accessibility issues. The property itself maintains a striking aesthetic and the amenities, when accessible, are commendable. The location is undoubtedly a major selling point, offering convenient access to downtown and freeways. However, since my move, I’ve encountered several problems. There have been multiple instances of water breaks, which were disruptive and inconvenient. Often times getting little notice to water being shut off, I have had leaks in my apartment and have heard of others flooding. Parking has also been a challenge, particularly due to ongoing construction. Access to and from the building via the alley has been consistently problematic, adding to daily frustrations. Furthermore, internet connectivity has been sporadic, impacting my ability to work from home efficiently. These past few months have also been a challenge with car thefts and break ins occurring regularly. I have been a victim of this multiple times and even had property stolen from a secure area within the building. In conclusion, while the Harlowe Apartments offer some great features and an attractive location, potential tenants should be aware of the ongoing issues with utilities, security and access.

The Harlowe is severely overpriced for what it provides. The parking garage situation is a death trap. The internet goes out every other week. There is no cell service in the building. The leasing staff doesn't try to get involved with the residents. The pool area is basically obsolete after the hotel was built. There is no sun, no view, no outdoor space to relax in. There are broken, dirty, construction debris covered furniture at the pool and nothing is ever properly maintained or cleaned. There is no roof top access and absolutely no view from any community space. Concierge is unreliable and most of the time will not let guests up.

My family and I love the Harlowe. Its walkability and amenities are amazing and its the perfect place to live in downtown Nashville. Close enough to everything, but far enough away to enjoy the quiet side of town. The management and the staff here are amazing and go out of their way to make it a fist class place to live. I would suggest the Harlowe to anyone moving to Nashville.

Honestly, not really happy with my stay at the Harlowe. The trash chutes are always broke, there has been non stop contraction to the point of being woke up at 7 AM and not being able to get in and out of the parking garage due to trucks being in the way. The gates to the parking garage barley work and the internet seems to go out a lot.

The Harlowe management team is great. They have tried to be helpful. But with that being said - I moved in two weeks ago and my apartment smelled like sewage. Not faintly like sewage, like full on sewer plant in my apartment. There have been hvac specialists, plumbers and maintenance people in and out of my apartment constantly and the issue is still not fixed. Staff and management knew before I moved in and advised me the DAY i moved in that the smell still wasn’t gone. My stuff smells, the Greystar people have only offered to move me into a smaller apartment, I have been in constant communication with the manager here, and I’ve been extremely patient. I wouldn’t recommend anyone move in here. It is truly a nightmare being in this apartment.

I love the Harlowe! The building and team are amazing. Parking is super frustrating-- trying to get in/out of the garage with the construction and location of the entrance/people parking in the loading zone blocking our way in.

Nice kitchen appliances. Some nice folks live here. Quality of the building is lacking. Construction on all sides. Soon there will be a building that blocks the sun on the sun deck. Constant dust and traffic from the construction. Makes it hard to leave and enter the building/parking garage. Was promised so many amenities that were completely ignored. Multiple lights in the apartment flicker? Happens rarely but funny to note. WiFi is very spotty and drops for very short times, but multiple times per day. Overall, a bit too expensive for what you actually get.
