The Grove at Cheney

I think it’s a wonderful environment. Like anywhere some things can always improve but to this day I’ve had no issues with the apartments. They attend you quick and they are always giving away free food or drinks! Wonderful place this might just be the move for you!!

I just recently got my new place here. All of the people at the front desk were really cool and helpful. They gave me a tour and were super informative, they even let me bring my dog! I moved in as quickly as I could and have been trying to get my friends here too

I absolutely LOVE that the grove hosts events for us residents. Makes me feel so appreciated and enjoy living here. Even the workers give off such an amazing vibe when ever I come to the office it’s the best.

My maintenance request was completed within the same day it was requested.

Super nice place. Just hard to find close parking sometimes and it can get pretty cold.

I went to EWU a year ago and the grove was located at a convenient place. I usually walked to campus which was usually a 15 minute walk on a good day. I love how the grove has affordable options. They have an amazing internet with great Ethernet. I highly recommend to rent here if you love affordability, furnished, and pet friendly!

Awesome amenities, all utilities included in rent including cable and internet. Quiet atmosphere and lots of parking. Staff are so helpful and friendly. Excellent maintenance team.

The amenities are great, and I love that I can just come in and grab a coffee at the office. The staff is super friendly, and they really do their best to help you out. The Grove is a great place to live!

I love the location, walking distance to EWU, near trails. SUNSETS are the best. My cat loves all the windows and I am excited for all the amenities. Trains are not loud or bothersome, after a few days did not notice. Management takes the time to help when possible...I'm home.

Lived here as a resident last year an absolutely loved it! It is pet friendly, 24 hour gym and free tanning plus a lot more. The staff is always friendly and helpful and maintenance is on top of their game! No security deposit or hidden fees and I would highly recommend!

We took pictures of everything before we moved in, documented everything and then they charged us OVER $1000 when we moved out for “damages”. Absolutely insane

The grove is THE WORST. First, They don't take care of the property. There is dog poop and trash everywhere, the apartments are small and dirty, and the pool was disgusting over the winter. Dog poop bags and leaves were floating in a moldy pool for months and they didn't bother to even cover it with a tarp. They even tried to annoyingly and repeatedly try to convince me to renew my lease due to of my “glorious” view of the pool. Second, the grove can put ANYONE in your apartment if your apartment has an open room. They give you 0 information on any new roommates. They can move people in who are twice your age (which happened to me, I’m 19 if you would like to do the math), people who aren’t college students; complete strangers. The older roommate ended up STEALING from us! They are still allowing her to LIVE ON THE PREMISES, and not only that, they are knowingly putting a tenant that causes problems into a new unit. she could be your next roommate. They look over your roommate preferences and moved me in with someone who is allergic to cats (luckily we worked around it) and tried to move in an additional person with a cat. After I had called and asked if the person had any animals, the MANAGER told me there was no record of any animals, then proceeded to tell me that they “couldn’t do anything about it” after the person moving in told us that she had a cat, they moved her elsewhere after my roommates mom came to the office to save my roommate from additional torture from allergies. I do not feel safe here, cared for, and everything is overlooked. Third, my roommate decided to adopt a pitbull, so she asked the manager beforehand if it was alright. She was truthful, she gave them every single record she had on the dog, and they approved it. After management switched in April, the new manager noticed that my roommate had a pitbull and told her that the dog has to go since pitbulls are on the aggressive breeds list, even after they had APPROVED it in JANUARY. I have seen huskies and other pitbulls on the property. Not only this, but our dog is one of the most docile creatures. He has never attempted to hurt anyone or anything and all he wants is to be loved, and he gives it back. Believe it or not, these are only a FEW problems that I have experienced at the grove and I'm sure they'll find something else. The grove is terrible and all you are doing is signing yourself up for trouble if you rent out this apartment.

The management is horrible. They just assume that we are college students that don’t read through the lease. They have fees for almost everything. And the rules don’t apply evenly to everyone. Property is covered in dog poop, gates don’t close. I don’t recommend living here. There are a lot more inexpensive and friendlier places

They con you into signing the leases and the staff have no idea what they are talking about. The room looks nice and is a okay place to stay. They will charge you any penny they can. I signed multiple leases which were void or wrong. They then lost my money and said I never gave it to them. It took more then a month to fix after I contacted the BBB. Don't do it unless your ready to get screwed for a year.

The Grove is a place that will scam you. The apartments are cheaply built which I can accept. However, if you live on the inner side near the volleyball court then your windows will be cracked above the frame and leak. This happens any time it rains. I reported mine 3 times to be fixed but nothing was done. The office itself is poorly run by management. Mindy is the main manager and tries to make money any way she can. Over the summer she snuck a person in to a room in my apartment. How? Given the fact that I work away from Cheney for the summer it was easy for her. I knew a roommate was leaving but his lease would not be up till September. He checked out in July since he decided to leave early. As soon as the room was open they "switched" his lease to another "open" room while he continued to pay and put someone in his room. I come to check on my apartment and all of my stuff is being used by someone in the apartment. I confront the grove about it and they said they called and emailed me about it. I told them to show me the calls and email. In the end they couldn't but they left him there till September until another room opened up. Now that I am finally leaving the grove has decided to screw me over one last time in charging me extra money to paint the entire room! It has no marks on the wall and they say to use touch up if there are any small holes. Which I did use touch up. The full paint for one room is $125. Therefore if you plan to live there good luck! It is a terrible place that does not care about you. They will take any money they can.
