Located in central Minnesota, Saint Cloud combines city living with natural beauty along the Mississippi River. Known as "The Granite City," this community features diverse housing options, from downtown apartments averaging $878 for a one-bedroom to residential neighborhoods like Centennial and Lake George. The city's rental market shows steady growth, with rates increasing about 2.3% annually. The city maintains 95 parks across 1,400 acres, including Whitney Memorial Park and Munsinger Gardens, recognized among America's top public gardens. The presence of St. Cloud State University, Minnesota's third-largest university, contributes to the area's educational landscape.
Downtown Saint Cloud preserves its heritage while embracing growth, highlighted by the restored Paramount Theatre from 1921. The Mississippi River provides recreational opportunities, particularly around the Beaver Islands, a natural formation ideal for kayaking and canoeing.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Manager at Grand Gateway, Responded To This Review
Thank you for your 5-star review! It's so good to hear that our team was able to provide you with such a wonderful and seamless move-in experience. We appreciate you highlighting the effort of our team and look forward to having you as a happy resident for years to come. Welcome home! Sincerely, The Grand Gateway Team
My wife and I lived at Grand Gateway for 2 years and had an amazing experience. The unit was incredibly clean updated and refreshed when we moved in and the staff was and is very friendly. On top of their kindness, they also are very quick to solve any issues for you. During our 2 years we only had one maintenance issue and I called the office around 9am and the problem was fixed before noon. The building, the unit, the staff, and the perks offered here may seem a bit expensive but you are definitely getting what you pay for. The single reason we moved is because we had 2 pets already and wished to get a third, and IRET has a 2 animal policy per unit. Thank you for a great 2 years!
Property Manager at Grand Gateway, Responded To This Review
Hello! Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us this amazing review! We are so happy that you had a fantastic experience at Grand Gateway and are sad to see you go! Your feedback means a ton! Best of luck to you with your new housing and please let us know if you ever wish to return to us in the future! Take care!
We've been living here for 4 months now and it was one of the best decisions we've ever made. The staff is friendly and helpful, the building is very new and clean and extremely well-maintained, and the people in the building are great. I love all the amenities, the value, and the space we have in our beautiful one-bedroom that everyone compliments us on when they come to visit. There's a great mix in this building of young families, older people, and older college students. We've never had problems with people partying or noise in general. People even seem to manage to keep their dogs quiet. My only complaint is that the building is close to Highway 15, which can be a little loud at times. However, we're getting used to it. From what I've seen this place has the best value in St. Cloud. Probably why there's sometimes a waiting list for an apartment.
My husband and I lived at these apartments for about 10 months, we just left because they don't allow smoking anymore and we are smokers, otherwise we would still be there. We absolutely loved living in these apartments. They were sunny, clean, HUGE closets, great area and management were wonderful! Always accommodating. We were sad to leave. I would highly recommend these apartments to anyone who wants to live in a quality, quiet, spacious, and clean place. One of the best apartments we've ever lived in.
I have been a homeowner and renter, as well as a landlord myself in the past. I appreciate everything the management does to make this community a wonderful place to live and I love all the amenities. They are also very responsive and professional with service requests.
This apartment complex is very nice and in good condition. The staff is very friendly and cooperative. There has been a change in manager and the new manager is great. If you see a bad review of management, it's definitely the old manager they're talking about (and I agree with them). However, the current management is great! The only complaint I would have is that the amenities are not awesome. The workout room is very small with no windows (not just windows to outside, no windows at all). There is no indoor pool. There are only 2 recycling areas in a very large building. Despite those negatives (and we knew of them before we moved in), my wife and I are extremely happy at Grand Gateway! It's a great place to live. Oh, and we have no pets, so I'm not sure about how pet-friendly it is...
Great building, friendly staff and hard to beat prices! The location is perfect - quiet and not an extremely busy street. It is pet friendly, always clean, great maintenance services, huge apartments...I can't complain!
Nice area. Thinking this may be the place for me in the future. Loved the big laundry room and walk in closet.
