Golden Gate Townhomes

This is the worst place to live. There is absolutely no security — break-ins are common, and it’s terrifying knowing that anyone can enter your home at any moment. The complex is overrun with people involved in drugs and dangerous behavior, making it feel unsafe day and night. When you try to report issues or ask for help, you’re met with hostility and disrespect. The filth is unbearable, and the pool has been out of service for what feels like forever. Living here feels like a nightmare with no escape.

This place is trash and if you have issues they do not help you!!! Security doesn't secure anything, they sit at the gate on their phones and let any and everyone in without even checking who you are, the lift their head up and open the gates! The foundation it weak and horrible, every step that's taken upstairs is heard downstairs. Have constant weed smell from the neighbors since September and they still haven't done anything about it since I've complained, I was advised they can move me but why should I have to be moved when the people nextdoor are the problem since moving in and the latest response I got was call the police smh!! There's constant fighting and drama outside. You hear everything from neighbors fighting to their TV and music coming through the walls! Parking is trash, you have to fight for parking, people have guest over that take up all the spots, no assigned parking at all. Try walking through the complex and see how many shell casing you find on the floor or listen for how many times you hear guns going off in here!!! They only want your money but could care less about you as a paying tenant!! I wouldn't refer this place to anyone!!!

While I do not remember or know their names, the staff here is phenomenal. They are very professional. I moved in April 2022 (did not renew my lease) and they made it very smooth. The ladies in the office are very nice and professional, especially the manager. However, the only issue with this property, and this is NOT the staff work work there’s fault but there was a HUGE roach and insect problem. The apartments are just very old and honestly not live able. The owners need to tear these things down and just start over. The trash cans are swarmed with rats, I was too afraid to take the trash so I had to have my boyfriend to do it. It is very spacious, especially the master. I consider myself a clean person but I had to do extra cleaning to combat the roaches and keep them away. If you want to live here then you have to learn how to deal with the roaches. Roaches HATE lavender and peppermint oil. Put some in your cleaning products and spray but your front and back door and mainly in the kitchen. Once I did this, they stayed away but you have to do it at least 1-3 times a week. Also, the vents make the apartment smell very foul and we couldn’t get rid of the smell. Overall, the place is just old. The maintenance staff were phenomenal as well. Service requests were answered in a timely manner and I appreciated that but these apartments are inhabitable, they’re old and roach infested. Hope this helps someone!

The community it very nice and peaceful. My stay here has been pretty peaceful with the exception of a few maintenance issues. When issue have come about, Fern at the corporate office is extremely helpful and persistent is getting them resolved.

It’s been three years that I have lived here and it’s one of the best choices I made. My kids and I feel safe and Fern is always helpful with any concerns and issues we may come across. Thanks Golden Gate!

This is my second year here at Golden Gate Townhomes. I must admit overall I’m pleased, the front office is great. Mrs Fern is exceptional!!!! The security team makes me and my family feel safe. It’s very quite here and the maintenance team responds in a timely manner.

There is an infestation issue with roaches. They do not have pest control regularly but still charge us for it. I've made many requests but they never come. At night the roaches all congregate all over the walkways and on the buildings. There in the hallways inside and enter your home. Dont let the "prettiness" fool you stay away !! I';ve seen baby all the way up to adult roaches. It's embarrassing to invite friends and family because of it.

its honestly a great apartment complex, been here since early this year .. haven't seen a reason so far not to love the place .. quiet, peaceful and just overall a nice location in stone mountain for me atleast wouldnt rather to be else where as while looking for a place last year the options were not appealing especially not for the money n thanks to Shiran the property manager for making it possible to accommodate me with a tight budget WOULD RECOMMEND*****

I’ve been at this establishment for 2 years now, Fern the accountant has been most helpful and responsive ANYTIME I’ve needed assistance. She’s very problem solving and genuine about her roll between her and security definitely worth the stay. Rent is increasing but the establishment doesn’t reflect what’s being asked but I do see where they are trying to make changes and progress as to why I gave 4 stars. Looking forward to the improvements being made and hopefully I can get another year in here if all goes well. Thanks

Golden gate townhomes are a great place to stay if you desire that townhouse style feeling!!! Up to date appliances, nice size bedrooms and bathrooms. It’s a gated community with security at the gate. A lot of people who stay there are family oriented. It’s very quite at times and management is very helpful!!! Fern is amazing

My 2yrs here was amazing I have no complaints. Staff is amazing and very helpful from the security team, staff in office especially (Mila) very helpful and nice, to the maintenance team. And lastly Fern is AMAZING was very nice and helpful. Thank you so much Fern and your team at Golden Gate for an amazing experience!

24 surveillance makes me feel very secure. Maintenance guy is amazing and very sweet. Front desk people will fix any issues on your account if any accidentally charges. The community is very quiet and having a small backyard is great.

I had a really nice experience when I came to the property. I was able to look at a model to help make my decision. A young lady named Mila helped me and she was very pleasant and I did not feel rushed. I had more than enough questions and she answered them all. Her customer service was amazing.

I’ve lived here for almost 3 years and have had a great experience. I love the valet trash services. I feel secure with the physical security at the gate and I’m able to walk/run around the neighborhood worry free. Fern with management is extremely helpful. She is always accessible, always responds in a timely matter and works with you by always providing a solution. She is much appreciated!!

So I personally have not had any problems with my unit. Anything that needed fixing they came right away and got the job done. I’ve never had to wait long for maintenance. And most importantly when I have a rough month, Fern makes sure that I’m good. Sometimes things happen but communication is great and she doesn’t leave me hanging. Overall I’ve been here for two years and love it.

I’ve been living at Golden Gate for a few years now, and I have never had any issues with this private, safe, and secure community. Fern is the absolute best! Every single encounter I’ve held with Fern has been pleasant and helpful. I have never met anyone with a heart of gold and always willing to help. I truly appreciate Fern and the Golden Gate Staff for all that they do. The security staff always make you feel warm and welcomed. Thank you!!

I moved into Golden gate townhomes 4 months ago and it’s been a great experience. My main focus when looking for a place was safety. I have 2 little daughters so living in a bad neighborhood wasn’t an option anymore. The security are so super friendly and already know me by name, I see them doing checks around the perimeter often so I feel very safe. Everything in my apartment is new and clean so you definitely get a luxury feel without having to pay top dollar. The whole process of getting approved was pretty simple and straightforward. If you are looking for a place to call home long term I would highly recommend Golden Gate

My family and I moved in to a new Townhouse - Adar at Golden Gate on Central Drive - Stone Mountain. It is another property of the Golden gate family of properties. The leasing manger Claudia J. was excellent in helping us get approved and move in quickly. Claudia is not your average leasing agent/ manager - She is a top performer. She understands what customer service is! She went above and beyond us.

I moved into Golden gate townhomes about 3 weeks ago and my family and I love it. It’s nice and quiet and a great starter home! Claudia was very understanding and polite and helped me every step of the way to get approved and moved in. The security even know my face now and I love it!! I am so greatful and happy I chose GOlden Gates Townhomes.

I just got off work and I’m supper excited about moving into the golden gates townhomes. Claudie assisted me and she was great. The community is lovely also the staff. Can’t wait to move in tomorrow

I selected Golden Gate as my starter apartment for relocation because of the new appliances and rehabilitation of the community. I liked that they offer discounts and such to help potential residents. I am excited about my move and hope my selection is a great choice. I also hope to see continuous effort to keep the property in good condition. Ms Claudia was my tour guide and has been available to answer all questions.

As a new resident I have nothing but positive things to say about this community. Starting with Ms. Claudia! She is so awesome but more importantly caring. Since the first day that I came to fill out the application she has made the process so easy for me, and I appreciate all of her warm, kind efforts to help get my children and I in a safe community such as this one. (She is good at what she do!) Also, the 10% discount on rent for government employees is fantastic, not to many communities offer that, so I'm so happy that I am able to be apart of that. The community is quiet and with the 24 hour security it is safe. I have no worries when my children go outside to play. I also love the upkeep of the community. The fact that its so clean, and to mention the trash valet service that's offered, which saves a trip to the dumpster. The privacy of the patio is a plus too! The appliances are great and the setup of the townhome is beautiful inside. I don't have any regrets for choosing Golden Gate Townhomes as my place of residence, and hope to be here long term.

Love the security personnel here. For the most part, they are very thorough and diligent in trying to keep the neighborhood safe.

I wish I could give them a minus. These apartments are terrible. The floors aren’t real wood. There are no ceiling fans. The gate does not work. Small box bathroom. High crime area. Totally not worth the price.

I love my new place it’s so lovely!! The staff is very nice with good attitudes they always answer the phone when I call the maintenance team is also great it’s very reasonable the neighborhood is quiet also me and my son enjoying our new home right now

I have only lived at Golden Gates for a few months, but I have enjoyed my stay. The office team are great, and really care about all of the residents from what I see.

We are overjoyed about our new townhome! We are the first to ever live in this beautifully renovated unit. All new stainless steel applaiances! We are beyond thrilled!! Shannon the leasimg manager is magic! Thnx for getting us in early!

My husband and I really love living here. It's very convenient to accessing many shops and eatery in the Tucker and Decatur area. The office Manager Ms.Shannon is amazing! She definitely makes you feel at home at the Golden Gate Community. The staff is very prompt about fixing things in your unit and very attentive. I greatly appreciate all their hard work in making me feel welcome and safe here at Golden Gate. The owners are very nice and are very dedicated into making this place look wonderful which I appreciate because it shows they care about their investment and want the renters to enjoy living at that apartments. I would highly recommend this to anyone that is looking for a affordable yet nice place that is comparable to the Decatur or Tucker area

This is a nice community for the area that is in, the pricing is reasonable and they are always willing to work with you and help with issues. One of the nicer properties in the area. I think this is a perfect community for people who are planning to get into homeownership and need somewhere nice to stay while your building up to that point.

Me and my husband absolutely love this place! The staff is nice the house is wonderful never had a problem with getting everything fix and it's actually a gated community would recommend anyone to live here!!!!!!

Over priced for the area and lack of renovations. No curb appeal, insides are nice. Friendly staff. Owners don't care about community

The units have all been renovated with modern finishes and the overall appearance is very nice. Completely gated in community with onsite security.

Love the interiors and the Staff. Leasing manager is a professional. Owners seem disinterested in making renovations or adding amenities like club house or playground. There are no signs or potty stations for the many dogs on property. Spoke to owner who will not add potty stations. Owner seems cheap.

The community is Very nice and Up and coming. There are minor things that could be fixed and it would be better if they put money into the material they use to build the units with instead of using the cheap materials they use. The community could be nicer if it got rid of The noisy group of neighbors in buildings 2 and 4. They keep up noise all night playing loud music. Their kids are outside at all times of night and day. I even wonder if they are enrolled into school because they are always outside. The parents of these children have no control over them. It is very sad. They are always touching other peoples belongings, and just a Nuisance to everyone around them. And on top of that the Management does nothing about this. So if you're looking for a nice community with a lot of noise it may be for you. but if you work everyday and have to get up early in the morning and do not want noisy neighbors, i advise that you look at other options. management wont do anything about it.

Being new to the Atlanta area I had no idea what to expect, but I am glad I chose Golden Gates. I love the modern feel of my townhome and extremely helpful staff. Ms. Shannon in the office is wonderful, sweet and professional. She made my transition seamless.

I really like my place. So awesome having a new unit that only I have lived in. Staff is awesome. Renovations and rehabs are under way, but moving along swiftly.
