Property Ratings at Glenbrook East and West
This place sucks! The office is so unorganized. They consistently failed to keep records of my lease and payments. It was a constant battle with them to recognize that I lived there and paid them every month. Thankfully, I'm very good at keeping records. How do you loose tenant leases and demand that they pay more money than the rent at the same time?! That office had a really bad manager who couldn't communicate professionally. The maintenance team seemed nice, but they were not very good at fixing minor issues. Whenever the power went out due to a storm there was always something in the kitchen that failed to work when the power came back. My oven/stove, fridge, or dishwasher would break due to the power loss, and the maintenance team took days to "fix" it. By fix it, it really means replacing the machine. That seems so expensive, but this happened like 5 times in one year!
The property has no maintenance team. My dishwasher has been broken for 2 months and no one has even looked at it to find out how it's broken. A replacement is obviously out of the question. The front office gave a specific date, but that was a lie.
The townhouses are terrible. So expensive, and for what? Thin walls so you can hear the neighbors all the time. Appliances break and they never get fixed. The property management team never tells residents when they need access for the mandatory fire inspections or filter replacements. If it wasn't required by law to do the fire inspections & filter replacements, they wouldn't do them. They can't even take care of minor maintenance fixes. The team is totally useless.
These apartments & townhomes are cheaply made, but expensive to live in. The rent price does not match quality. Super loud outside and inside. The noise is inescapable because cheap quality materials. Stuff breaks all the time, but the management team doesn't fix anything. They cancel work requests and ignore tenants problems.
These apartments were made so cheaply. The lack of consideration for the tenants is also shown in the property management style. For example, they never give you the right day and time when they need access to the apartments for fire inspection, maintenance, filter replacements which means you can never plan on when to secure your pets. It's very disruptive when working from home, and so is the constant noise from neighbors.
The property management is extremely incompetent. Every single tenant has been threatened that their rental rate will increase without justification in a mass email blast. The response from the tenants was understandable concerned, but the property management never apologized for this error and was really rude when us tenants asked for clarification.
The office is full of people who are incompetent and extremely rude. Not only are they rude to people thinking about signing a lease, but they are possibly worse to the people who actually live there. Upon a visit to determine if this was the right property for me, a leaseholder came in to talk to them and they couldn't even muster the most basic human decency to help the poor soul who lives there. Really shocking and disturbing.
The people in the office are so rude. They do not listen to the people who live here. They do not resolve problems, but they can definitely add to them. The office "workers" do not know what being polite is, nor do they understand the basic needs of a human being.
The office people are the opposite of helpful and will park their vehicles directly in front of tenants doors, making coming and going a hassle
the air conditioner is super noisy. the maintenance is AWFUL here. I have submitted a requst for over three weeks, no one has ever come to fix or get in touch with. I talked to leasing office for 3 times. They simply said they are short of stuff and have no idea when my request can be fixed.... Another maintenance request is just closed without any fix.... update on 3 months after moving in: the maintenance submitted in the first week has not been taken care of... The leasing office kept cancelling the maintenance requests without any reasons
I actually really enjoy living at Glenbrook West. I’ve stayed in the newer Phase II apartments for 1 year, moved out of state, and moved back into an upgraded Phase I apartment. I don’t have many complaints at all. Management is fine, maintenance team is nice and responsive (I’ve had to call a few times to get something pushed to the top but overall a really great response time), and neighbors are welcoming, diverse, and not disruptive. I plan to stay here at least for another year while in graduate school. Most affordable 1bd/1bath in the area that’s appealing to live in and easy to maintain.
Love n enjoy my one bdrm apt...at Glenbrook East. It's quiet n comfortable & affordable. Great location! Best of all, the porch overlooks a beautiful forest of trees...calming n peaceful.
