Property Ratings at Gateway Homes
This is a great apartment complex and we’ve called it home for just over two years now. Chevon the manager is absolutely amazing. She runs the entire apartment complex like a tight, well-oiled ship, and is on top of everything! She has always made us feel valued and respected, and treated us like family. Whenever we’ve had any issues, (which we’ve had very few) she is always lighting fast in response. As soon as a leak was discovered from our washer, she immediately replaced both our washer and dryer. Tim, the super, is also wonderful, and so helpful. They really value families here and most importantly-safety. Originally coming here from NYC, safety for our family was priority #1, and that’s exactly what we found here. It is always quiet in the complex, and we have never had any safety issues. Our apartment was clean and ready when we moved in, and the kitchen was updated with a new stove and microwave. The only con is you do have to pay a garbage removal fee, but that’s through Montgomery County, not Gateway Homes, and the fee is nominal. Definitely a great choice if you’re looking for a safe, quiet place to live.
The apartments look nothing like the ones in the pictures. I am currently paying much more than new residents for the same apartment, 1 month after renewal. I am getting billed for trash pickup when it clearly states in the amenities that it is included, management refuses to help. What makes it worse is that the trash bins are constantly full and are always VERY messy. Be careful when reading over the lease, they like to hand fines out for anything , including throwing a ball outside or letting anyone under the age of 18 walk around unsupervised. If you have a 17 year old child outside, they can fine you for that. Clearly stated in the lease now too. Do yourself a favor and go literally anywhere else. Even if it costs a little more, it's well worth it.
