Horrible location.

The apartments themselves are great—nice interiors and a well-kept property. But leaving the building is a different story. The street is packed with traffic and tourists constantly blocking the way. People park in red zones by the Starbucks on the corner, making it even harder to get through. My car was actually hit by someone trying to pull into the garage. It took two weeks to get it back. Tourists ignore street signs and walk right in front of your car, so you’re often stuck through multiple light cycles just trying to make a left. One block over is Hollywood and Highland—the worst intersection in the city. Hollywood Blvd also gets shut down frequently, which adds to the mess. So after a long day at work, expect to sit in traffic, inch toward your garage, and wait for crowds of tourists to move just so you can get home. Hollywood Bowl also happens all summer long so enjoy the added traffic that adds to it. Another thing you will have to deal with is tourists waiting in front of the parking gate for you to open it and they drive down through the broken gate (its been broken since i moved in January) and park in peoples spots just to walk up to the "Walk of Fame" all while you are charged $100 a month for your parking spot. This was the worst housing decision I ever made. I am miserable living here because of the traffic and tourists and plan on breaking my lease which I have never done before. I know the apartment complex cant control the tourists or the traffic but I need to make you all aware of what you are getting yourself

Great place... no regrets.

I have been here for about three months now and I can say in all honesty that moving here was a great decision. I looked on-line and did not even visit the property when I decided to 'go for it'. At the time, one of the things that made me rent here was the accessibility of the management. They are all very prompt and really try to help you out. Once I moved, I was very surprised to see that what had been written online (some bad reviews) was a thing from the past. The building is pristine; I see crew cleaning every day and they keep all areas very clean. It is super pleasant to walk into the building, specially after taking a stroll down Hollywood Blvd. Location is great! You have all the crazy touristy things right by you, but when you are in the building … it is surprisingly quiet. The pool area and all the other amenities are great and always super clean. It really has an 'hotel'-the nice kind- feel to it. I have placed 2 service requests and they have been solved in less that 24 hours. And as I mentioned before, management replies to emails super quick. As for loud neighbors (I have not experienced this) I do not think it is a problem with the management; there are just inconsiderate people out there. I In all honesty, do not think about it twice. There are shops. bars, the Hollywood bowl, hikes, the Metro (that takes you all the was to the beach) right out your door. And the best of all is that you can come to a super chill, well-taken care home after enjoying the city. The one suggestion I would make is to make the recycling bins a bit more accessible; other than this, the place is great. Oh, ignore all those old reviews, they must have been written a while back. PS: I am super picky with my living spaces and, seriously, this place is amazing.

I appreciate the leasing office, the maintenance team and overall my experience at the Alaya Hollywood. I was enjoying my experience here up until I realized that this place is not safe enough to live in. My Motorcycle was stolen from the property (my designated parking spot) and there is no trace or evidence of what happened! this makes me terrified and scared to live in such place.

If you want to live in Hollywood this is the perfect place and affordable. I have been here 3 years. Great management wonderful employees great security spacious living wonderful pool area whole property is kept clean great maintenance response time 0 roaches never had to complain about noise everyone living here is nice, friendly, minds their business.

Good Building, Poor Management

Alaya has a lot of good things going for it: nice apartments, relatively clean shared spaces, and great modern design. But it’s hard to live here for a number of reasons: 1) The management is terrible at enforcing rules. Smokers constantly set off the fire alarms and are loosely scolded before immediately doing it again. (Despite being a “non-smoking” building, you’ll see people smoking on their patios right next to the main office all the time.) People don’t follow trash rules, parking rules, pet rules, etc and the staff doesn’t care at all. Everyone is supposed to wear masks in the office, but they never enforce it and even the security guards ignore it and wear their masks around their necks. They prohibit having AirBnb here but, expectedly, everyone does it anyway. The most the management will do is put signs up asking “could you please follow the rules?”. Staff has no control of the tenants in their building and everyone knows it so the rules are totally ignored. It’s the wild west. 2) The block and building are crawling with criminal activity: open drug use, street racing, physical fights. A few months ago, there was a car chase that ended with a crash and a foot pursuit that followed the guy into the our parking lot. Another night there was a dumpster fire in our parking lot. A few weeks ago our neighbors had a bad blowup domestic fight that scared the heck out of everyone on the floor and the cops showed up. 3) Maintenance is constantly insisting on coming in to your apartment. Every month they have to check your water meter or your fire alarm, it’s nonstop. They also seem to be testing the fire alarm every month too. Considering how often it goes off, you would think they wouldn’t need to test it too. 4) Several things are broken a lot: The elevator. The hot water. The parking gate. I don’t think we’ve gone two weeks without one of these things breaking. I could probably have ignored some of these things, even most of it, but the staff being so nonchalant about the rules makes everything really hard. It’s sometimes just inconvenient (ie. having to go to the office every time a stranger has parked in your space *again* or getting woken up by *another* midnight fire alarm) but sometimes downright unsafe (ie. air bnb strangers everywhere, nobody wearing masks, etc). I just couldn’t handle basically being personally responsible for dealing with the behavior of fellow bad tenants. That is what building management should be for!

Living here feels like living at a really nice hotel. The pool is beautiful and the community area is well maintained. Hollywood is crazy and noisy outside (obviously its a tourist hotspot) but inside the apartment you hear nothing! Its like a safe little bubble.

We chose Alaya mainly because it was close to my work (it's 5 minute walking distance) and because the price (we've got a really good deal for the first couple of months). We were super happy for the first week, until we experienced our neighbors from above. It's something you cannot control, unfortunately, but we like everything in here, except for the neighbors. I'm surprised how selfish and stupid people can be. But if you stop thinking about them, then the community offers everything you may need, like free parking spots (and it's in Hollywood!), pool, Jacuzzi, bbq, couple recreational areas, nice mail room. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Maintenance team is a dream team! Management really tries to make your experience here good. My suggestion is if you can get the top floor here - go for it!

On average the Alaya community is friendly and welcoming though people became more reserved in recent months and dont interact as much because of the restrictive rules put in place for the communal areas. The community became dull and lost its general happiness. Overall its still a peaceful and safe community.

The Alaya is exactly what i was hoping to find in an apartment. The cost is affordable and the quality is amazing. The staff has been very helpful in assisting me with tours, the community amenities are great, and i've been very satisfied with my experience here.

DO NOT MOVE HERE. The staff are rude and demeaning. They make you pay A LOT of money for rent plus A LOT of surprise fees and force you to park at the other end of the complex in another building and will lie to your face about wanting to help you find parking at your building but do nothing to help you. The maintenance is creepy and will also lie to your face. They say they’re getting rid of Airbnb but they’re all the people you’ll see. This place is not worth the trouble or money, find another place.

I am thrilled to be a part of this community. A friend referred me having lived here for over a year now and loving his loft. I knew right away that I wanted to live here when I saw how big and open and bright the lofts were. I immediately put a hold the same day. I had an extremely good experience working with both Cheryl and Jacey who were friendly, accommodating, and really made the moving process a good one. Im excited to be a part of this community and have already shared my experience with friends and colleagues, three of which are already looking into leasing a unit here. Alaya Hollywood is a great apartment complex, in the best location in Los Angeles. It is smack in the middle of everything, and feels like a resort. It is so close to some amazing things in Hollywood, yet so quiet and peaceful that you dont realize you are even near the chaos of Hollywood Blvd. It is an actors dream location because of the closeness to auditions! Love this place!

Don’t come live here!!

The WORST management staff I have ever deltas with! I think they do not want residents here. They do not respect the tenants and their treatment is insulting and upsetting. Was so upset that told Royce, the leasing office manager I regret taking an apartment in this building.his shocking response was: “me too”. doesn’t look like the pictures, been living here for few months and do not enjoy any of the amenities because evert thing is under construction. Not a good quality of life! Do your self a faver and spend your money somewhere else.

Do not rent an apartment at Rubix

One start is too much for my review. The previous management was bad, and the new one is worst. They are unprofessional and rude. They do not fix problems correctly. The building looks nice but the inside of the apartments are falling apart from the toilet to the appliances. They refused to return my deposit for damages that was there when I moved in. Don't waste your money. Do not rent here. It is close to all the hollywood attractions but they are tourist in the building 24/7 with their suitcase. The security is just for show because they do not secure the parking lot. The door is now open all the time leaving your car at risk.
