Fort Oglethorpe sits about ten miles southeast of Chattanooga, Tennessee, steeped in rich historical roots, stunning natural beauty, and plenty of opportunities for family fun. Incorporated in 1949, Fort Oglethorpe’s history extends much further, serving as a backdrop for several battles during the Spanish-American War, World War I, and World War II.
Named in honor of Georgia’s founder, Fort Oglethorpe is now the northern gateway to the expansive Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park, the oldest and largest of America’s Civil War Parks. The Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park is also a place of serene beauty. Fort Oglethorpe residents can also soak in scenic views on nearby Lookout Mountain, where options for hiking, hang gliding, and picturesque drives are abundant.
Fort Oglethorpe provides a small-town vibe near big-city amenities, located just minutes away from the vibrant, family-friendly Lake Winnepesaukah Amusement Park.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

We appreciate your enthusiastic feedback about our community and team members. We are so glad your first apartment experience has been special!
I have lived at Fountain Brook for 7.5 years. My first time living in apartment complexes. I have to say I love it. Beautiful landscape with 2 swimming pools. They have added a lot of amenities since last April and say they are doing more this summer. No outside traffic because it is away from the main road. Quiet and peaceful.

Cause you are gonna love Fountainbrook. As a resident of one year I learned to live with a roach infestation among other things. Do you like to chill by the pool? Good luck here. It locks up at least two to three hours before sunset depending on what month it is and what time sunsets. How about cigarette butts and dog poop littering the grassy areas and landscaping. So you like hearing the plumbing rattle every time you neighbor flushes the toilet, if so you’ll love apartment 1025. How about walls so thin you get to enjoy hearing your neighbor run their washer and dryer along with the sounds of everyday life. Very communal. Do you like to get a quick workout in? Don’t count on the on site gym. It’s only for looks as residents have no access. What about using the community grill? It’s for looks too. You aren’t allowed to use it. How about the community dog play area? It’s great unless it’s rained at all. You get to wade through mud and water to get to it. Do you want your deposit back? Yeah you gotta jump through some insane 60 written notice that will I speculate also be followed by any reason whatsoever to not refund. Need to speak to someone at the office. You’d better be ready to speak to a voice mail. Have an issue that needs resolved. Better be prepared to live with the problem. It will not be taken care of in a timely manner if at all. Overall my experience was good as long as the pool was open which Half the time it wasn’t either because it was too dirty to swim in or it was 2-3 hours prior to being dark. I also learned to share my space and pay rent for my roommate the roach bug and his clan. I will say the only plus side to living here is the proximity to town.
