Located about an hour west of Sioux Falls on Interstate 90, Mitchell is a small and secluded city on the plains of South Dakota. Mitchell’s biggest claim to fame is as the home of the Corn Palace, a popular events venue and world-famous roadside attraction which receives a new set of exterior murals (made of dried corn) every year. Beyond this historic novelty, the community cultivates a charming suburban atmosphere for its residents, with lush tree cover, serene neighborhoods, and a charming Downtown district packed with historic storefronts.
