You might expect the "birthplace of speed" to be somewhat noisy, but Ormond Beach leaves that to its more-famous southern neighbor, Daytona Beach. Instead, this quiet, beachfront city offers white-sand beaches, the natural beauty of Tomoka State Park, and a fascinating history.
In 1643, a group of Quakers headed to New England were blown off-course. They ran ashore near Ormond Beach, and decided to settle there. They did okay until 1704, when a group of Timacuans raided the camp and killed the settlers. After that, the area was tossed back and forth between Spain and Britain until 1821, when the US acquired the land from Spain. It was nicknamed the "birthplace of speed" around 1900 -- the packed, smooth sand was ideal for automobile inventors to "test out" their vehicles.
Today, Ormond Beach is a palm-tree-filled, coastal community ideal for those who want lazy days on the beach, swimming, surfing, and beachcombing.

Fishermans Landing is heaven in a home setting with out the maintenance of your own home. Great staff of friendly, supportive , and knowledgeable people who really care about their residents. Location, Location is everything. We are located on Granada Avenue in Ormond Beach with everything you'd ever need. Walmart, Lowes, Publix , Bells, Walgreens, McDonalds, Burger King, Post office, Peggys whole foods, Curves, Gyms, restaurants, bars,Library, Town Hall, Police Station, Fire Department all within a two mile radius, not to mention public transportation right out side the complex. Just 9 miles away is the Volusia Mall, The Daytona 500, Daytona Beach, Bike Week, concerts and more. A paradise where you can live in luxuary and have entertainment at your fingertips. Therefore, Fishermans Landing is Paradise in Paradise with large apartments 2 bedroom, 2 bath, front to back. Only 8 units to a building it like living in your own condo. There are limited units of 1 bedroom -1 bath. Every unit has it own washer and dryer. Plenty of storage space. A nice porch off the living room and an outside storage unit on a spacious screened porch. Come by and see for your self. Luxury living in a beautiful friendly complex.
I love living this close to the beach ! These apartments are clean, friendly, spacious, and definitely make you feel that you are at home! Best apartment living near the beach! This place is great!
