Management did not do anything to prep the sidewalk, driveway for winter. Did not plow them promptly leaving it super unsafe to drive. Furnace is broken tonight with negative temperature. They just offered us space heater instead of fixing it

I read so many reviews on this website when looking for a place to rent so I figured I’d share my positive experience here. It’s been almost a year and I renewed my lease. Maintenance request are handled quickly, the leasing office is helpful, and the gym is small but nice. The pool is freezing though, if that’s a deal breaker for you. I love not loving in a hallway with 20+ other rooms. Here you have 6 units per building #, so I hardly if ever see other people when coming and going.

They only allow one company here and it’s bloom broadband. Absolute trash internet with less than 1mbps download. No joke. Wouldn’t recommend for that reason alone. Can’t get any help with it and maintenance is in here every week trying to figure it out.

I lived in Fieldstream for 8 months this years and couldn't have been happier with the experience. The apartment was clean and nice. We loved the balcony overlooking a pond and the central air and in unit laundry worked perfectly.
Seriously horrible. The workers are so rude and neighbors complain about every little thing. We also had black mold in our bathroom and the maintenance would just spray bleach over it.

Don’t live here. It’s expensive and not worth it. I got harassed by the manager and his wife. They don’t take your maintenance questions seriously and it takes months for them to come out. They were gonna raise my monthly payment after living there for a year. The walls are thin and you can hear everything from above and below you. They don’t care about you they just want your money.

this place is absolutely garbage, management doesn't want to work with you they try and screw you out of money constantly saying you didn't pay for some month and then they will just keep chalking on late fees and not tell you about it until 6 months later when you receive a huge bill and then it's almost impossible to go back and find records so you're almost screwed!! I've had to take screenshots of every time I paid just so I can show them that I paid for something so they don't try and screw me over! stuff constantly breaks down and then it never gets fixed! I've lived in much nicer places than this that have not only been cheaper but management has been great for instance pretty much everywhere else! stay away from this place unless you like getting screwed over out of your money I would give this place and -5 Stars if I could!!!!
I have been living in one of the new apartments for 9 months and im not enjoying it. Management is terrible and there are tons of times i get charged out of the blue, so i have to go explain almost every month that i have paid all of my bills. Maintenance is pkay but i have had them come 4 times in a week and a half to fix my furnace. My laminate has also been tearing up since we move and they say theyre going to fix it, but it has only gotten worse over a 9 month period. There are good things that come with the apartment, but i have had a lot of bad problems.
The walls are really thin and you can hear most of what is happening in your neighbors apartment. The office employees are idiots and extremely rude. They require you to use their internet and cable. They wont allow outside telecom companies. The appliances are cheap and don’t work very well. They also have a strange smoke detector system that always flashes emergency lights which keeps me up at night plus my neighbors who don’t go to sleep until after 5 am. The closets are quite big and come with organization which is nice. There are several closets for storage. The outside deck/patio is nice. They don’t allow you to grill or have a grill. There is no water pressure in the showers. I have a 2 bath unit and each shower it’s impossible to get clean quickly because there is no water flow. Overall as long as you can avoid the office staff and don’t mind typical apartment life it’s not a bad place to live.
If I could give this place 0 stars I would. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE stay away from this place! Management is terrible and not willing to work with you at all! There are so many other places that you can rent for a cheaper price other than Fieldstream Apartments. Just save yourself the headache in the long run and don't rent with them. :)
Fieldstream is relatively new to Ankeny, IA. The apartment I live in is spacious, with 2 large bedrooms, walk-in closets in both bedrooms, and 1 and 3/4 bathrooms. I have lived here about a year and a half. It is a decent-sized place. The basic price is under $1000/month, which includes water and trash. It has central air. There are extras such as internet, satellite TV, and garages that cost extra. There is a small balcony, and gas-grilling is allowed on it, (which is not always the case with apartments I have lived in with balconies.) The kitchen is small but modern, with a dishwasher and plenty of cupboard space. There is a laundry room in each individual apartment with a washer and dryer, which is a nice bonus. Pets are permitted, for a small fee. The apartment office is on site, and includes an exercise center, a pool during the summer, and a gathering room. Maintenance is available here 24/7, and is really good about attending to and fixing problems. They offer recycling, but it only has one location, near the office. They offer discounts for seniors, and they also try to make it so that seniors can live in the ground floor apartments. Ground floor meaning no stairs to contend with. The drawbacks are: The walls are a little thin, so you can sometimes hear your neighbors and outside your door. The windows leaked when I first moved in, mostly because I don't think they were sealed properly when the complex was built. Construction is currently on-going, so during the day, every day, including weekends, you can hear the sounds of machinery and construction work. There is a nice pond, but the geese have taken over, and some of the sidewalks can be treacherous with their waste. I was attracted to this apartment because of proximity to the expressway, the option of having a garage, and the fact that it allows pets for a small fee. It is a little expensive, but it allows someone to live comfortably with pets, nearby Des Moines and Ames with the advantage of enjoying suburbia in Ankeny. I would choose to live here again.
