Even though the town is small, Fallon has a great choice of cultural attractions, including Churchill County Museum, Top Gun Speedway, Lahontan State Recreation Area, Hidden Cave, Belmont Courthouse State Historic Site and Oats Park Art Center. In addition, several popular destinations nearby include Stillwater National Wildlife Refuge and Grimes Point. Popular historical places to visit nearby include Fort Churchill State Historical Park and the Mormon Station State Historical Park. The community celebrates several festivals such as the Fallon Goat Days in September, the Spring Wings Bird Festival in May and the Cantaloupe Festival in August. The Grimes Point Petroglyph Trail features boulders with carvings that are over eight thousand years old created by Native American Indians of the area.

Shopping in Fallon is centralized on Highway 95 for easy access. The community has a Sears, Dollar Tree and Walmart near the center of town. The Frontier Village and Valley Plaza have cafes, boutiques, bookstores, antiques, aromatherapy and candle stores, home décor, jewelry and toy stores. The town also offers choices in bridal and shoe stores, in addition to gun, hunting and fishing supply shops. For fresh, locally raised fruit and vegetables, the Fallon Farmers Collaborative holds a produce market at the Slanted Porch on Tuesdays during the summer. In addition, local restaurants feature their food, and local musicians play for entertainment.
