Villa Maria Retirement Community stands majestically 13 stories high nestled among billowing oaks in the quaint little town of Ocean Springs. The community features studio and one bedroom apartments for low income persons 62 and over. Rent is based on income with federal subsidy available for those in need of rental assistance. Views from apartments floors 8 and higher have breathtaking views of the beautiful Gulf of Mexico and Ft. Bayou. We are just a short walk away from the beautiful sand beach where you can experience breathtaking sunsets. If you are up to the challenge, you can tackle the 2 mile walk of the majestic bridge. Location, location, location is what makes the Villa such a wonderful place to live. We are within walking distance of Banks, Drugstores, shops, a bakery, churches just to name a few. Ocean Springs has over 100 restaurants with everything from snow cones to fast food to fine dining - meeting everyone's tastes. Our local restaurants offer an array of Cuisine from Greece, Italy, Mexico, China, etc. just to name a few. Other places of interest just a few blocks away is the Senior Citizen Center where you can go for fellowship with other local senior citizens. Ocean Springs is known as a very artistic community, with many well known local artists living in our area. The famous Walter Anderson Museum of Art, rich in history and artifacts, is just a couple of blocks south of the Villa. Ocean Springs is host to several events that bring thousands of visitors through our beautiful little town. October, a beautiful time of year brings Cruising the Coast where vintage cars from all over the country descend on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Ocean Springs' venue is set up as a mini festival with a stage for live bands, reserved parking for registered cruisers, and vendors for food and event merchandise. All of this taking place on Washington Ave, adjacent to the Villa. Take a stroll down memory lane as you walk among cars including Studebakers and Camaros. November brings the annual nationally known Peter Anderson Festival. Thousands of people come to Ocean Springs to visit the over 300 booths set up by artist and craftsmen from all over the United States. The Villa has a bird's eye view and the best seat in the house for both of these events. Ocean Springs is very pet friendly and easily maneuverable either walking or driving. "No Car, No Problem" CTA bus service provides transportation around town but also provides service far west as Long Beach. The covered bus stop is conveniently located literally at the end of our sidewalk. Jump on the bus and it will conveniently drop you off at Winn Dixie, Dollar General and Super Wal-Mart. You can also take a ride to the Promenade Shopping area in D'Iberville or the beautiful Edgewater Mall with just one transfer. We have an award winning hospital just a few miles from the Villa. Hospital transportation is available for those who do not have transportation to the doctors and hospital. Biloxi’s Veterans Hospital is just a short bus ride. • Rent is based on income, all utilities are included and basic cable is just $34.00 per month added to the rent each month • Automatic rent drafts are available for your convenience • Service Coordinator available twice a week • Full Service Beauty Salon • Emergency Maintenance after hours • Laundry room located on the 1st floor open 24 hours.
