The Belle at The Lamar

Tucked between the rolling hills of northern Mississippi, Oxford is a charming small town brimming with historic character and artistic appeal. Home to the University of Mississippi, also known as Ole Miss, Oxford is also teeming with youthful energy and cultural events.

The Historic Downtown Square has served as the epicenter of Oxford since the city’s incorporation in 1837. Today, the Square boasts a bevy of eclectic shops and boutiques, art galleries, independent bookstores, nightlife spots, chef-driven restaurants, and downhome eateries.

Among many notable residents past and present is the celebrated author William Faulkner, whose legacy is commemorated through the preservation of numerous relevant homes, his gravesite, and a bronze statue in front of City Hall. Oxford is also home to a thriving arts scene, with a variety of museums, galleries, and creative communities in town.
