Woodland rests alongside the Lewis River in southern Washington, about 30 miles north of Portland. One of the oldest communities in the state, Woodland gives off a small-town vibe in a scenic environment convenient to recreational opportunities in Horseshoe Lake Park, nearby Mount Saint Helens, and numerous national forests.
Woodland is especially known for hosting Planter’s Days, a pageant celebration that begins with crowning a Planter’s Day Queen. Planter’s Days is the oldest celebration of its kind in the Pacific Northwest, reflecting Woodland’s passion for tradition. Woodland’s other famous celebration is the annual Lilac Days festival, hosted by the historic Hulda Klager Lilac Gardens.
