Viviendo en Yorkshire

Historia

-

The Yorkshire neighborhood holds a part of the Steele Creek area. Steel Creek originated in the 1740s and quickly became Steele Creek Township: one of the original townships of Mecklenburg County. As of 2014, Steele Creek represents one of the fastest growing residential areas in Mecklenburg County. Much of the land was farm land until the 2000s, when houses quickly grew to create the sprawling suburbs.

There aren’t any museums in the neighborhood, but locals enjoy the Art Space Studio where they can create their own art. Perfect for kids or the whole family, at Art Space Studio, you create and design your own pottery for a unique treasure. While there aren’t any city annual events in the neighborhood, many homeowner associations often hold their own private events throughout the year, lending to the community feel.

Restaurantes y Bares

-

Most of the best restaurants in the Yorkshire neighborhood cluster near the Steele Creek area.

Make sure to check out The Wine Shop. This trendy restaurant has an elegant cafe and an outdoor patio dining area. Dine on a specialty flatbread pizza, or just nibble on some cheese as you enjoy an aromatic glass of wine. Before you leave, hit up the retail wine shop for a huge selection of wines and craft beers.

For a premium experience, visit Bubble. This modern restaurant and lounge creates unique dishes such as the champagne poached shrimp and champagne tempura. Don't forget to pair your meal with a bubbly glass of champagne. This establishment also provides bottle service.

For nightlife and bars, many hot spots await if you want to enjoy some music or good drinks in the Charlotte area, but if you want to stay close to Yorkshire, head to Randazzo's Grid Iron. Aside from hearty Italian fare, Randazzo's features a large bar with daily drink specials.

Like most rural suburban areas, getting around in Yorkshire comes easily with less traffic than the busier areas. Many people choose to drive their own vehicles. Luckily, unlike parking in downtown major cities, Yorkshire provides plentiful, free parking. Vehicle owners have a short trip to major highways.

With limited public transportation, only a few bus stops serve the neighborhood, and most of them are located near the edge of the area and near the major roads, making them a better option to reach other areas of Charlotte, but not to travel within Yorkshire.

Since Yorkshire consists mostly of a suburban neighborhood, hailing a cab doesn't come easy. You need to call first to request a pick-up. However, whether traveling within the Yorkshire neighborhood or hitting Uptown, Uber provides service to the area if you are unable to drive yourself.

Yorkshire doesn't have a high walkability rating. In fact, out of all the neighborhoods in Charlotte, it ranks near the bottom for walkability. While Yorkshire caters a little more to a bike-friendly environment than a walkable one, few residents choose to bike because there are so few bike lanes.

Parques

-

Unfortunately, no parks reside within the Yorkshire neighborhood of Charlotte. However, with an 11-minute drive, you reach the McDowell Nature Preserve. This huge nature preserve spans 1,107 acres. Perfect for kids, families and dogs, McDowell Nature Center and Preserve ranks as an ideal place to appreciate and learn about local flora and fauna. Some services cost fees.

With just a short four minute drive from Yorkshire, you can also reach Carowinds Amusement Park. Whether you’re a thrill seeker or there with your children, the park features many great rides, such as the Fury 325 aggressive rollercoaster, or enjoy some live entertainment from Snoopy or Charlie Brown and the gang.
