Nestled between the Everett Turnpike and the Merrimack River, the neighborhood has substantially grown over the decades. The river encouraged cities to build along the water’s edge around the 19th century for power, which brought upon many more residents in the River Corridor neighborhood. Being near to the airport and within close proximity to two major cities also entices residents to stay in the area.

Art galleries and museums in River Corridor remain scarce, but between landmarks and monuments throughout Manchester and the Bedford New Hampshire Historical Society in Bedford, you can learn more about your neighborhood’s past. The historical society often puts on events, while other events such as annual classic car shows go on throughout Bedford as well.

Privately owned restaurants and small eateries make the neighborhood unique, with the majority of eateries residing along South River Road. Pizza, coffee, Chinese food and more sit within easy reach of the neighborhood’s borders. While upscale dining doesn't really make an appearance here, heading a few minutes north to Manchester or an hour southwest to Boston opens you up to an array of award-winning restaurants.

The Extra Touch Gourmet on Hawthorne Drive in River Corridor provides a unique specialty shops with eclectic foods and dining or catering options. As you dine in, relax in the warm and comfortable dining area with elegant placemats and linens. Sip on a hot cup of coffee paired with freshly prepared quiche while listening to live acoustic sets.

For a quick bite, dine in or order take out with Yianni’s Pizza on South River Road. Pizzas range from $9.75 for a plain cheese up to $16 for the Yianni’s special. With over 20 hot subs, 10 cold subs, salads and dinners to choose from, residents always leave full and happy.

The neighborhood’s nightlife remains rather quiet. Most of the excitement for night owls resides in the heart Manchester, near to the airport and over in the center of Bedford. Head on over to River Road Tavern for a few beers with friends. The tavern has a ton of seating and appears quite large on the inside, especially with its vaulted ceilings. The small menu presents a few great meal options, while the beer menu remains extensive. Try one of the 13 draft beers or order a glass of wine.

With the Everett Turnpike and S. River Road, getting to Boston or Manchester comes easy. Free parking and several side roads exist throughout the neighborhood of River Corridor, making local travel quick. The Manchester-Boston Regional Airport, just a short drive away, provides convenient air travel to wherever you want to go.

Hailing a cab proves difficult in the neighborhood, so using call-ahead taxi services and Uber remain more popular choices. The neighborhood provides secure roadways and sidewalks for walking and bicycling, especially along the river. You can travel safely by watercraft, ground or air with the amenities provided nearby. Bus routes, trains and subways don’t exist inside of River Corridor or even in proximity.

Living in the River Corridor neighborhood allows you not only to surround yourself with stunning views, but also to be near many free parks and areas with untouched land. Places to go with friends, kids, pets or simply by yourself lie scattered throughout the neighborhood and its surroundings. Athletic fields and trails present the opportunity for exercise.

Pine Island Park sits just across the Merrimack River close to the airport. Here, a playground surrounded by pine trees and great natural settings provide children with a tranquil place to play and socialize. Enjoy relaxing by the water and sit in one of the many seating areas while your kids run around. Leashed pets can also join in the fun.

Reed’s Ferry State Forest resides just outside of the neighborhood to the west of the Everett Turnpike. With over 120 acres of land, the hiking trails here seem to go on forever. Wildlife and views give locals a place to escape.

For a cheaper cost of living than that of Boston or Manchester, River Corridor presents rental properties at a less expensive rate. For a one-bedroom apartment in the neighborhood, the average rental rate stays rather steady at around $1,307 a month.

Taking an UberX ride to Boston costs about $170, while a ride to Manchester sets you back around $27. Unfortunately, public transportation options do not exist in this region. The median fuel rate stays about 1 percent higher than the national average, making driving an attractive option. Pubs charge about $5 to $6 for a pint of beer, while a meal averages at around $10 to $15.

The Mall of New Hampshire is located just north of the airport, but it is well worth a trip outside the neighborhood. This mall contains an Apple Store, JC Penney, Macy's, Justice, and more.

The Consignment Gallery on S. River Road sells everything from previously owned home décor to furniture. In operation since the late 1980s, this store features more than 20,000 square feet of space to be explored. While walking through the shop, discover framed art all over the walls, jewelry counters and endless amounts of furniture laid out strategically.

Near the Bedford Mall just north of River Corridor on S. River Road sits Alapage as well as other boutiques and specialty shops. Alapage sells unique and fashionable women’s clothing and accessories that set you apart from the others. Stylish options include denim, sweaters, dresses and much more. The store sells designer labels, so be ready to spend when visiting here.

Grocery stores and markets exist north and east of the neighborhood, all within a mile's radius of the neighborhood. The Fresh Market, Harvest Market, A Market and Hannaford Supermarket all exist just north of River Corridor, making grocery shopping convenient.
