Holly, along with the rest of Everett, grew along with the lumber trade. Everett was founded around 1861, and lumber mills soon followed. The Great Northern Railway arrived around 1893, bringing more business opportunities to the emerging city. Everett's streets are named for the city founders. The city's waterfront location also played a role in its popularity, and the Everett Yacht Club was established along the Sound in 1907. Today, Everett plays a large role in military, aerospace, and technology. Major employers include Boeing, Naval Station Everett, and Zumiez (headquartered in neighboring Lynnwood).

The Museum of Flight boasts one of the most extensive displays of aircraft, covering the history of flight. Nearby, the Herbert H. Warrick Jr. Museum of Communications provides a hands-on experience with equipment dating back to the beginning of communication technology.

Holly offers a variety of dining options that include international favorites and some unique twists. La Palmera Family Mexican Restaurant was voted the "Best Mexican Restaurant in Western Washington" three years in a row. This local favorite offers traditional favorites such as fajitas and burritos, as well as a terrific vegetarian menu with options like veggie enchiladas and spinach quesadilla.

When you want Vietnamese food, Pho Hung is a family-owned restaurant offers local favorites like sliced sweet ribs, pork spring rolls, beef fried rice, and tofu pho. Just down Evergreen Highway, Buzz Inn Steakhouse will satisfy your craving for American comfort food. This restaurant features a variety of steaks as well as chicken, seafood, and burgers. They also offer all-day breakfast with favorites like biscuits and gravy, omelets, and two eggs served with steak.

One Twelve Street Diner is also classic American complete with a classic 1950s look and great prices. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, this Holly favorite features country fried steak, pork chops, and specialty sandwiches like the Monte Cristo, French Dip, and Reuben. The One Twelve Street Diner won an award for "Best Breakfast" in 2015.

For Thai food, head to ZAB Thai Restaurant, where you'll discover a menu that includes Salmon Bow Larn, Lemon Grass Chicken, Mango Prawns, Emerald Steak Curry, and Pad Thai. Locals recommend getting the Emperor Duck Red Curry, followed with green tea ice cream for dessert.

Glacier Lanes Restaurant and Lounge is ideal for a fun night out. In addition to an extensive menu, this restaurant features bowling lanes and a pro shop.

The Swift Station on Evergreen Way allows you to take a bus into downtown Everett for car-free commuting. Everett Mall Way leads to I-5, which leads north into Everett or south into Seattle. For longer commutes, Paine Field Airport is located on the western edge of the neighborhood. While there are sidewalks throughout the neighborhood, this area is largely residential and spread out -- ideal for evening strolls, but to reach restaurants, shops, and businesses, a car is necessary.

Loganberry Lane Park is located at the north end of the neighborhood, bordering Walter Hall Golf Course. This large park contains the Kasch Park Athletic Complex. a dog park, and hiking trails. The 60-acre athletic complex includes a baseball complex with four baseball diamonds, soccer fields, and a playground. Walter Hall Golf Course is a public course owned and maintained by the city. It includes a pro shop and amazing views of the Cascade and Olympic Mountains.
