Harrington, DE

The Harrington Historical Society Museum is a must-see for both visitors and residents alike. This is a great place to visit for those who want to learn more about the history not only of the city, but of the state of Delaware as well. Located conveniently off of Fleming Street, visitors can explore plenty of historic city memorabilia in addition to the old railroad complex, located on Hanley Street. The old railroad is an exciting place to visit, as guests as able to check out an old railway caboose, watchman's hut, and the railroad tower itself. Those interested in checking out this museum should note that visits are typically by appointment only, so contacting the Historical Society prior to visit is a good idea.

No matter what your taste buds may be in the mood for, you're sure to find plenty of local cuisine in the Harrington area. One of the most highly rated restaurants in the city is Rudy's Family Diner. This small, family-owned restaurant has everybody's diner favorites, ranging from burgers and milkshakes to French fries and club sandwiches. This diner tends to get packed, especially during weekends, so it's a good idea to make reservations ahead of time.

Located at the Harrington Raceway and Casino, the Bonz Restaurant and Lounge is another popular place to dine in Harrington. As mentioned above, this restaurant features a full buffet that's very popular among locals and visitors alike. Those planning on visiting this restaurant, however, should be advised that there is a strict dress code in place here. 

Because of Harrington's small size, there is not a robust public transportation system here. Still, getting around the city via bike or on foot is relatively easy, given that it only spans two square miles. There are also some well-maintained bike trails around town, making it pretty easy to get from the outside of the city to the downtown area. Local taxi services are also available.

The majority of Harrington's residents, however, have their own personal vehicles and get around that way. There is no bus system, subway, or other public transportation system available throughout town.
