Forestville is a residential neighborhood in southeast Hamilton County, offering an array of apartments available for rent in a park-like environment. Known as the oldest greenspace township in Ohio, Forestville sits along the outer Cincinnati loop of Interstates 275 and 471, providing easy access into Downtown Cincinnati and northern Kentucky locales. Forestville is only about a 10-mile commute from countless downtown businesses and vibrant nightlife offerings.

Withrow Nature Preserve lies on the west end of Forestville, with Woodland Mound on the east. Forestville lies in Anderson Township, a highly reviewed residential area of Greater Cincinnati known for its historic farming community. Founded in 1793, Anderson Township is residential and naturally beautiful, known for excellent public services and schools. With a well-known Parks and Recreation Department to manage the beautiful parks and golf courses, including Cold Stream Country Club in Forestville, a great deal of family-friendly activity is available in the area. There are many annual events throughout Anderson Township, including Shedding and Recycling Day in May and a Community Cleanup every spring and fall. Local residents are encouraged to volunteer community-wide to help dispose of unnecessary waste and work together to clean up the neighborhood streets. Other events include the Anderson Garden Tour, Party on the Plaza and the Independence Day Parade.

Forestville, within Anderson Township, features plenty of restaurants along S.R. 125 to the north. Pelican’s Reef is well-renowned for its seafood menu, including a popular grouper sandwich, as well as its casual dining experience and excellent customer service. Hibachi Master offers an innovative Japanese selection, with popular sushi and seafood provided in large portions from very hospitable staff and half price sushi specials every Thursday and Sunday. Indian Bistro provides affordable lunch and dinner buffet throughout the week and serves highly regarded naan, chicken tikka masala, kheer, mango custard, saag and more.

While Forestville is a primarily residential neighborhood without exciting bars and clubs, there are plenty of pubs, bistros and grilles that provide happy hour specials close to home. Two top-rated locations are Latitudes Bar & Bistro and Good Fellows. Latitudes is well known for their burgers, sandwiches, beer cheese pretzels and crispy fries. There are also weekly events, including live music on weekends in addition to weekly happy hour drink specials. Good Fellows provides an incredible menu of wings, pizza and more along with happy hour specials throughout the week. Good Fellows has personal service and a great sports bar atmosphere for Forestville residents.

Along with several local taxi cab companies that serve the area, Hamilton County locals can also rely on Uber when it comes to scheduling a pickup. With most centers and buildings containing private parking lots, there is no need to worry about parking meters or using buildings within Forestville and the surrounding area. While the prime commute to downtown and other work locations includes individual driving around the I-275 loop and west on S.R. 125, there is also the Cincinnati Metro bus service into town, offering both standard and express routes that include park and ride service to save on downtown parking during work hours.

Forestville works with Greenspace Protection in Anderson Township and includes part of two large local parks, Woodland Mound and Withrow Nature Preserve. Also in the local Anderson Parks are parks and trails for the whole family, which also hold many of the annual community events. Woodland Mound holds a Frisbee golf course, playgrounds, a jogging track and picnic areas. Withrow Nature Preserve plays a big part of local Greenspace Protection working to maintain greenery, natural growth and wildlife. With the Anderson Township Park District and Great Parks of Hamilton County in Forestville and surrounding areas, there is great natural beauty and enjoyment of the land. The other township parks have year-round amenities such as trails, playgrounds, picnic areas, athletic fields and courts, and indoor and outdoor programs for the whole family. Anderson Township parks support athletics and sponsor various community activities, including the Daddy Daughter Dance, Easter Egg Hunt, A Fair of the Arts, Santa’s Workshop, Run to Remember 5K and the Greater Anderson Days celebration.
