A tranquil area on the cusp of Chicago

Rural Suburban Growing Convenient Up-and-Coming

Kendall County is a scenic rural area composed of small communities in a vast agricultural landscape. The eastern part of the county contains parts of the cities of Joliet and Aurora, making eastern Kendall more populous than the rest county. From 2000 to 2009, Kendall was the fastest-growing county in the United States due to its rural charm and close proximity to Chicago. Commuters don’t mind the hour-long commute into the city, and many new housing developments have sprouted up in areas that were once devoted to farming.

Kendall County was formed in the 19th century when the nearby counties of LaSalle and Kane split. Yorkville provides the county seat, although the village of Oswego maintained that distinction for a brief period of time before a vote restored the honor to Yorkville. The Kendall County Fair give residents the opportunity to enjoy good food and fun at this yearly event in Yorkville.
