The city of Corona was first settled in 1818 by a Spanish man named Leonardo Serrano. The land that was settled started off as farmland and eventually developed into a city. During the early 1900s, Corona had become known as the largest citrus exporter in Southern CA. The city continued to expand and develop into the residential and business hub that is today. Along with the growth of Corona, El Cerrito developed into a residential area.

The city of Corona organizes a number of annual events and festivals meant to bring the community together. Be sure to check out summer Corona Concerts in the Park, a series that brings in artists from around the state to perform for free in the local parks.

Nightlife in the El Cerrito area includes a variety of venues from sports bars to clubs. Chill out with some hookah at Dream Ultra Lounge, or listen to a concert at Live from Memphis. Vino Veritas Wine Bar is a favorite local hangout spot for a laid back night out. El Cerrito is located within the Inland Empire, Southeast of Corona, off Interstate-15. It takes about 10 minutes to drive from El Cerrito to Corona via E 16th Street. On-street parking can be found throughout the area.

Metrolink provides several public bus routes through the area that connect to other areas in Orange County, as well as Los Angeles.

Bike lanes are located on many major roads throughout the area such as Foothill Parkway and California Ave, making it easily accessible by bicycle. The shops and attractions of El Cerrito are fairly spread out, making it slightly difficult to access on foot alone.
